Iraq banned from the Beijing Olympics " for political inference in Olympic affairs."?

If this was the case, shouldn't the USA be banned as well?

Saddam's son tortured Iraqi atheletes , the Iraq hating IOC did not blink.

Saddam tortured Iraq, the Iraq hating anti saddam removal crowds did more than blinking to stop his removal.

China killed people in tibet and anyone who opposed the 3 gorges damn, they get the olympics.

Leftist in general and IOC have no clue, they just rant, they can pretend that they care about Iraqis all they want, I will never believe these dictator placating hypocrites.

    this guys said it best:

"Why didn't the International Olympic Committee intervene under the previous regime when Uday used to imprison and torture some of the players?" says Mithal al-Alloussi, a secular MP from the Umma party.

You mean "interference?" Where's the link before I take your word for it. And, no, the USA hasn't interfered in Olympic affairs, and thus, it shouldn't be banned. Maybe you should read your information again so you can understand it better.

I may have got the story wrong, but my impression was that the Iraq Olympic team decided not to participate because of too much government interference with them é not that they were banned. However, not having read that much about it, I may have got it all wrong.

If you mean leaving Saddam's son's hand picked Olympic committee was a reasonable option, I'd say you would have to be a little bit nuts, just like the leftist laden IOC.

Yes, the USA has been interfering with not only their olympic affairs, but China's with Tibet's.
