Obama declines visiting Wounded Iraq Veterans?

Obama's aides asked that he visit Wounded Iraq Veterans in Germany. As in American Vets..... They were told he was more than welcome to visit our wounded Vets. But he was not allowed to bring the Media....

He decided to "work out" instead.... His excuse was it was a conflict of interest since his campaign funds were funding this "tour" through Europe. Hello? So his campaign funded him "working out? What's the difference.

What are your thoughts?

Update:

This is not a Bush rule. It was in place before Bush became president.

The military policy is in place so that Politicians can not use visiting wounded veterans for campaign press.

Update 2:

Wounded AMERICANS... Not POWS!

I think he is afraid to face wounded veterans. You notice he doesn't do anything he doesn't want to or answer any questions he doesn't want to . It is very rare that we have seen him exposed to anything that makes him uncomfortable. In fact, throughout this whole process he has compiled a list of things he doesn't want talked about from his ears to his wife. I don't think he can handle true confrontation of those things he is uncomfortable with. Not a good trait for a want to be President.

Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs said Friday the campaign was initially given clearance to land at Ramstein Air Base, but were told by the Pentagon Wednesday that the trip “would be viewed as a campaign stop.”

“Senator Obama made the decision that we were not going to have wounded men and women become involved in a campaign event or what would be perceived as a campaign event.” -Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs

As a vet, I can't imagine how he could not see that as the most important thing to do. Come on people even when Cher was on tour she stopped in to sing to the troops... I guess he's no American Idol !

Troops don't matter to him...German and French do.

He would have gotten atleast one brownie point for one photo op at Ramstein AFB Hospital... Blew that one huh...

Now, weather his people did or did not want to turn his stop into a campaign stop, then what was he doing with the troops in Iraq ???? Between his staff and the media, it was everything that looked like a campaign stop. Please, give me a break.

Now, come to think of it, I wouldn't want him in the same room with the troops. I wouldn't let him even hold a bedpan.

I don't understand why he didn't go and then saying it would be unethical for his campaign to pay for him to go? This is crap and anybody who can't see it is just blind. When he was in the mid-east it was said that his visit was a senate visit. Somebody needs to start telling the truth in his campaign.

According to this article, the Pentagon said that the trip might be a "campaign related."

Guess what. You're wrong. It was announced today on TV that he did visit the wounded troops. He just had enough class not to allow the media and cameras go with him, as he didn't want a media circus. God, I love that man.

Now, can you ask a question that has any meaning?

It would have been in poor taste to exploit wounded veterans for political gain. Also, the pentagon regulates such activities. (The pentagon doesn't care if Obama works out.)

He would probably faint at the sight of blood.

Anyway, Obamination is not worthy to stand in the presence of our brave wounded warriors.

My thoughts are that Bush, as usual is engaging in censorship to hide the consequences of his evil war on it's victims, the dead and wounded soldiers.
