Every defense is different.(our D-Ends are in a two-point stance at keep the tackle and tight end from blocking our linebackers so they can make all the hits)

The some of the basic coverages

Cover 0 - Everyone is manned up on some body. The FS may be on a slot receiver or tight end depending on who is out on the field.

Cover 1 - Everyone except the FS is in a man coverage. The FS's zone is the whole field.

Cover 2 - The FS and SS split the field into two sections and line up about ten yards behind the line of scrimmage. Corners cover the flats/curl area.

Cover 3 - The SS lines up as a linebacker, the corners cover deep, and the FS covers deep in between the hash marks. The field is divided into thirds.

Cover 4 - Just like cover 2 except everybody goes deep

Cover 6 - Just like cover 3 except the FS lines up as a linebacker.

I agree with Peyton Manning. This is not a good place to learn about defensive schemes. The most important thing to remember when learning a playbook is to keep working on it and don't give up. It's frustrating to learn but eventually you'll get it.

If you have to go to Yahoo! Answers to get help on zone coverages and blitz splits, your most likely not on the team.
