Relocating cross country?
Has anyone had any experience relocating large animals cross country. Cars...furniture..clothes...dishes..those can all be replaced. I have two horses, a large dog, and a cat and I just wanted to put my feelers out. I would only be relocating for a little over a year cause he only has 15 months left so I even wonder if it would be worth the stress to my horses to lugg the them whole way out there. That and Fort Lewis doesn't have any boarding facilites..which is simply...crazy.....so I would have to find boarding....would it be worth it. Just looking for opinions.

We (wife and I) have relocated cats twice, now, in the past 20 years (including flying 2 cats). Depending on their disposition they will either settle right in, under the seats, or complain for an hour before settling in.
We tried tranquilizers a couple of times with mixed results -- that really depends on the cat, but we haven't done that for a long time, now. One of our cats and our dog regularly make 9+ hour road trips in the car without a problem.
Horses -- I only know several people who own them. We don't. If you can't ride them, or don't have time to ride them, then it doesn't make sense to take them. As for a long ride in a horse-trailer -- consider that rodeo animals make very long trips, weekly, without problems.
