How can we speak about God?

How can we NOT speak of God!

We are so infinitely small in this universe that

without the prime mover at our side we

should surely perish. However, I suggest

your point should be that we speak WITH God,

from whom all blessings flow. And I say that

you speak with God on a personal basis

requiring no fancy words or skills...just a loving heart.

I suspect God could hardly be impressed with

whatever we do...he is omnipotent. So trying

to get just the right words is not important.

We speak about and with God with our hearts

and minds and actions. Do well for there is

    heaven awaiting.

Lastly, we can speak with and about God

because we have faith that he is the ultimate

in justice and charity and love.

God is close at hand...I am not fearful despite my

    small being in this universe.

We speak about God by reading the scriptures to others, and explaining them to children.

Jesus, and the holy spirit of the Father lives in us and speaks to our hearts, Jesus is the work of God and expressed in our actions towards our neighbors

We must speak about God, our hearts would burst if we didn't speak of our love of God, thanking God for our lives and our well being.

I have been here a year and this is the first time I have read a question from "imacatholic".

    You really do exist :-)

How can we speak about God?

I can never tell an unbeliever who God is because my words fail to do Him justice. My mind wanders. Sometimes I am unkind. Speaking about God has never been my "gift". I guess speaking about God through His word is the only way to make sure we do it right. Unfortunately unbelievers hate hearing Gods word.

There exist so many different ideas and perspectives about God that its difficult. Even within one denomination, like Catholicism, there are many "flavors" of understanding. Each of us brings our own life experience, education, cultural background, etc. into the conversation.

I think it takes a large measure of humility. I think we each need to respect what the other brings to the conversation. Its an important conversation to sustain and I think that we should embrace our diversity rather than fear it.

there are no god but God, however, we differed on why Mohammed is a messenger of God

[to me: the One True God sent same message to ALL prophets.

As a True Born Again Christian, i talk about God Most High, Lord Jesus Christ the One True Living God, through His Holy Words, for i am only a sinner saved by His grace and not my own works. Ephesian 2:8-9. 1Timothy 2:5.

And that Lord Jesus Christ in my only righteousness that i can boasts of and not with my own self-righteousness. That to tell about Him, the One True Living God, i must have to study His Holy Words cheerfully, willingly and joyfully in or der to be guided by the Holy Spirit and not any pope or priest or pastro but through His Holy Words i rely, turs and epend on not of man-made doctrines from men like myself being in this corrupted house that one day my Lord Jesus Christ will change it to glorified body in the image of His resurrected body. Amen.

I wouldn't worry so much about speaking about God, but rather acting for God.

    God Bless!

I absolutely love this quote from St Francis of Assisi:

"Preach the gospel at all times, and use words if necessary"

it's planted so deep, it blesses my soul continually

Let you light shine before men!

    Let our lives speak...

    blessings ; )

We have to learn how to have God in our lives.

You will then pray to him in the morning and the night or through out the day.

You will also go to Sunday masses or first Friday masses.

    You will talk about Him.

You will introduce your kids to Him.

You will rejoice His name and..

You will share your joy and pain with Him.

    With an open mind.

"Religious Elitism" is only an obstacle in honest, open communication about God. Fear and hate should never be deciding factors in faith.

    Thank you for asking.
