the 1st answer is complete twaddle, indegestion, burping and heartburn are all often symptoms of a heart problem. I ended up in A&E several years ago with a heart attack ,after spending the previous night burping and suffering from what I thought was indegestion, the Doctors told me that thousands of people do the same thing. Its a lot more common than you might think.

Dr Frank; sorry (you're a doctor and I'm not) but I disagree. I have personal knowledge of a possible connection, and it may be quite a common one.

A relative was recently diagnosed with gastric ulcers (one symptom of these is burping) and was being treated for them, and then after a few weeks ended up in hospital with congestive heart failure caused by cardiomyopathy. The common factor is excessive alcohol intake, causing gastritis and also alcoholic hepatitis and alcoholic cardiomyopathy. Or so the medics tell us. Needless to say, said relative no longer drinks and is improving with treatment.

To the questioner; no, I am not suggesting, if you are asking on your own behalf, that you are a drunk! However, in some cases there may be this connection.

None whatsoever. Burping is a digestive phenomenon.

Both problems can cause chest pain, (angina and heartburn) but they are not related. If they were, you could cure heart disease with a dose of salts.

No, the 2 are not linked. ( Are you related to 'liitle blue riding hood' ?)
