Has George W. Bush made a statement on the shooting at the Unitarian Church in Tennessee?
It just hit me, while watching the President with the Pakistani Prime Minister, that I hadn't seen any official comment.
Isn't this the kind of thing presidents make statements about? If he did comment on it, shouldn't the networks cover it better?

Gracious, do you ***really*** think that POTUS is going to make any official comment concerning the murder of two (and the hospitalization of five more) "cultists" who "don't believe in anything"?
(Whoops, forgot to hit the >SARCASM ON< button before keying that comment in!)
Knowing Dubya, IF he ever gets around to commenting, he'll probably make some completely off-the-wall comment like:
" ...I'm sure the good people of the TVUUC are praising Jesus Christ that their co-worshippers are enjoying Eternal Peace in Heaven with Him now...."
How much do any of you care to bet that the FBI drops out of the investigations real fast?.... ("Hate crime: religiously based? Are you nuts?---It's not a real religion.")

In all seriousness, i think of what he's making an attempt to declare is that tough to cajole a great phase of the inhabitants that Iraq performs a useful function in the GWOT. nonetheless, I even have 2 factors: a million: Too many folk who desire him to succeed shop having to pass in after him and say, "What he meant to declare became into..." it particularly is admittedly tricky. 2: no be counted if or no longer the conflict became right into a mistake should not be wrapped up in no be counted if he retains having to guard his determination. the difficulty for the historical past books is the reality that the justification for it replaced in mid-conflict.

Why on earth would he? I mean its a tragic event but its really just another crime. It is not the kind of thing that Presidents make official comments about.
Had more people been killed he might have, but only 2 died. Do you know how many people died nationwide from murder yesterday? A hell of a lot more than that. Can he comment on all of them? No.
Im certain if someone asked him about it on camera at the right time he might say something like "our prayers are with them" but hes not going to interupt TV for a special news bulliten on that.

It must be difficult for someone whose values are the same as the shooter to make a statement condemning him.

Yeah... it was "Duhhhhhh.... shootin' 'em folks were BAD y'all! I mean violence IS the answer. Or isn't... it's an ol' Tennessee sayin' that I don't 'member too much."
Sorry... couldn't resist.

He'd probably say, in his terribly absurd way, that he understood someone killing over a different view.
Ironically, the people that he shot probably would try to understand why he did. That church has done some amazing things for the greater good.

The networks dont even cover the truth about the people being killed everyday in Gaza ( for starters)...you want real news?...dont watch major news...they lie, deceive and hide the truth from everyone on a daily basis....

Does the President comment on every shooting in America? No, he doesnt, so whats your point?
- Anonymous1 decade ago
with all that is going on in the world, i would think it is near impossible for the president to comment on each individual crime that happens in the USA

He has to be careful to make a statement without upsetting his gun-toting, liberal-blaming, Limbaugh-listening, McCain-voting, conservative base.
