Have you seen Ricki Lake's documentary?

I had an opportunity to watch Ricki Lake's documentary "The Business of Being Born" today. I thought it was terrific and I agree with many of the views stated about natural childbirth. Has anyone else seen the movie? What did you think?

There is a website as well: thebusinessofbeingborn.com

Update:

Almost_a_Mom, you are absolutely right about high risk pregnancies etc. The saddest part to me were the labor nurses that have never seen a perfectly normal birth without pitocin. Best of luck with you and your baby!

Yes I saw it and loved it. I dont agree with everything that is said but I loved everything else. You know in the US everyone assumes you HAVE to go to a hospital to give birth but its one of the only countries in the world that thinks that way. Most other countries have more women giving birth at home, or with a midwife, etc and its completely accepted by the medical community. My friend lives in the UK and is pregnant. She saw her OBgyn once, and has seen her midwife since. There are more midwives than doctors in the UK and they have few complications with their births. Its amazing.

BUT... I am a high risk pregnancy and I believe I need to be in a hospital to give birth. I want that NICU and emergency surgical option right there if we need it. You just have to be realistic about it all.
