I don't know if this will help you or not but Teach yourself: Film making. helped me. because tought me how to write a good script so that I can practice my acting. I know it's not an acting book and you can only get one thing out of it but ehh, I tried.
And i would also like to say that I too am Starting acting in the fall. well... theater that is. I've been making videos of myself so that I can see what I did wrong and improve it. Hope I helped :)

The greatest writers are the greatest readers. You have to see how the famous writers put a story together so that the reader feels exhilarated at the end, can't get the story out of his mind, and goes around telling his friends what a great book he read. Fifty years from now Twilight will be shoved to the back of the shelf as a teen cult book, and the original Frankenstein will still be on all the lists as something that a person must read. I'd say you need to systematically read all the great books you possibly can. Get them at the library one by one so you don't have to pay for them, and find out what made a bestseller "best." What did Steinbeck or Dickens or Vonnegut do? Why did Stephen King become so famous? Every author has a separate beautiful power of entrancing the reader. Read mysteries, read horror, read stories of triumph and of disaster. Just make sure they are the famous ones.
