Computer Worms?
Hi....2 ?'s. I bought McAfee b4 Norton expired & b4 I new it, Norton had renewed. 1.) Is it cost effective and/or protection effective to keep both? If not, id like to cancel one. 2.) My computer is always showing the blue "Please Wait" box like its gonna shut down and it freezes and goes to blk n white but only sometimes does it actually shut down totally, it just comes back to normal in a few seconds. Today I got a notice from Norton that I have a worm but this has been hapning long before the worm.
I'd appreciate your help...thanks!

First off, everyone thinks you have to pay for Antivirus protection. You dont! There are a few great antivirus out there that are absolutely free.. Get rid of both of those antivirus cause when you have more than one antivirus... sometimes they start to pick each other up during the scan. Its best to have one antivirus. Do a search for AVG for free,.. its a great antivirus... and then you can use, Adaware which is a free anti spyware. I also use comodo B.O Cleaner cause its a script killer. Thats what I use... Im happy with not paying for protection... You should try it out.
1. Cancel Mcafee and Norton
2. Google search for AVG for Free... and Adaware, comodo bo cleaner if you want them as well
3. install be happy
4. dont pay for protection anymore

If you have an all in one bundle(with firewall and anti spyware) with one of the two antivirus software than go with that one or which ever one has a longer subscription. It will not be possible to install both as you have one installed the other will not install until you uninstall the other. Good luck.

You need to get rid of one or the other.
Only use one anti-virus product. Running more than one can cause conflicts thus rendering each ineffective. Below are links to Norton and SmartComputing outlining problems when having more than one active AV product:
