I want an actual, good camera.

I have a crummy Canon Powershot.

Any camera recommendations as well?

    Check out the following three:

    Canon PowerShot A720 IS

    Canon PowerShot SX100 IS

    Canon PowerShot S5 IS

    It's listed in terms of increasing cost and features. The S5 is the best of the three, but also costs around $330. The A720 is around $200.

    If you want a smaller camera that easily fits in your purse, look at the PowerShot SD890 IS for $300.

    I have a Sony Cybershot but I know someone who has a Sony alpha 100 that I get to use sometimes. Now I really want a professional camera...

    And I like the way you have rounded corners on your pictures...I need to learn how to do that.
