I just don't understand what's going on with me anymore. I'm a senior in high school, in all accelerated and advanced placement classes, am going up to Boston in the fall for college, have so much ahead of me, but just see no point in anything at all anymore. I cry myself to sleep every night. I could care less about this 10 page paper for my AP English class due in the morning. I don't even want to show up to work tomorrow either. I find myself feeling happy one moment, and completely miserable the next. I forget absolutely everything. I'm seriously behind on all my schoolwork and projects. I will legitimately sit down in my room to do my work, and just sit, for hours on end, and not do any of it. Then go to bed, not caring anymore that nothing is done and go to school late and just tell the teacher "Sorry, I didn't do it." I cannot remember what I did yesterday, let alone this morning. I don't want to see anyone. I never want to talk to anyone. I envision the world without me. I can honestly say if my best friend died right now, it wouldn't even phase me. I try to explain this all to my parents, they just say I'm being lazy and have to get my act together. Please let me know that this is just a phase, it's been like this for months.

I listen to bands such as The Arcade Fire, Nana Grizol, Conor Oberst, Bright Eyes, The Mountain Goats, etc. I also enjoy stuff like Modest Mouse, Franz Ferdinand, Red Hot Chili Peppers. Any suggestions to further my music library? Links to download albums would be appreciated, particularly mediafire and such. Thanks :)

I met this guy at my high school a couple of weeks ago. He's a grade below me, he's 16 and I'm 17. I do not think I have EVER had so much in common with anybody. We listen to exactly the same music, watch exactly the same movies, read exactly the same books and have similar lives, interests, sense of humor, just everything all around. In a matter of days we're talking often and hanging out outside of school, usually with a group of other friends. He calls me "dear" and "dearest" and touches my leg when we sit next to each other and teases me about how I'm a good foot shorter than him, all regular flirty stuff. However, his ex-girlfriend who broke up with him around 7 weeks ago and destroyed him is toying with him again. He does talk to me about her, but not often. He says he's still madly in love with her. And as much as he wouldn't mind dating her, he doesn't want to go through any pain again. And that either way, she'd still be a great friend to have. So is he just playing around with me and we're just friends and he's going to go back together with her? Or is he starting to like me more? How can I get him to get over her and start to get to me?

I'm almost 17 and have had my license for months and still don't have a car. My dad's friend asked if I was interested in his 1999 Saab 9-5 station wagon, he said it's mine for $3000. At first I thought no way, it's a station wagon, how lame. But after seeing it and driving it, it seems really reliable and comfortable. It's black, has new tires, about 94,000 miles, and everything is in working order. My parents said it's up to me if I want it or keep looking for some other car. Do you think it's worth it or should I keep looking?

My birthday is July 14, I'll be turning 17! I'd like to lose 15 pounds, don't worry I'm overweight by like 25 or 30 (>.<) so it's not like I'm a twig and trying to get even skinner. I just wanna look/feel healthy! Help with exercise and diet plans? Any tips on how to stop eating as often as I do and what I can bring for lunch at school or fit in for a breakfast early but quickly before school? Thank you C:

And it's not even mostly my nails that I'm biting! It's the skin and everything around them, all the way down to my knuckles! It's horrible, my fingers are constantly bleeding. In art class I have multiple blood spots on my drawings and paintings from bleeding fingers. I've tried bad tasting lotions/polishes on my nails and hands and fingers. I've tried just willing myself to stop. I've tried having a rubber band on my wrist and snapping it when I bite. I've tried manicures and acrylics. I've tried taping my fingers. Nothing works, I do it all subconsciously, even when I sleep! Is there any way to break this or am I doomed for life?

I'm sixteen and I started a job as a server in the restaurant at a retirement home in September. I'm applying to new places because the hours stink at this job, I work like 3 hr shifts two days a week and therefore make pretty much no money. It's my first job and I need to let my boss know that I plan to have this Sunday be my last day. Do I just tell him in person or right a note and slip it on his desk or what?

My dad's friend from Florida, I live in CT, fixes up older cars. He's got a 1999 Saab 9-3 Turbo that he's almost done with and he's offering me it for $2500. Good deal or no? Need I remind you I have like, 200 bucks to my name haha. It'll be my first car, I'm only 16 (:

If I do get the money and want it, my dad and I would fly down there and pick it up and drive it back. Oh yeah, it's got only 6,000 miles. I don't speak Car and Driver, so what do you think, good deal, or no?

I need to think of an idea for my art project for school. We're doing a drawing with colored pencils and it can be anything as long as you incorporate two- or three-point perspective. I hate these kinds of assignments because I can't think of just ANYTHING. Any ideas or something to get me thinking?

I'm 16 and my parents are deciding between the Toyota Yaris or the Honda Fit for my first car and I have a say in it too but I have no idea. What is you opinion and let me know how the car is if you have it!

She claims that if I get it done that no adult will take me seriously, for instance at job interviews, and all they'll see is "another irresponsible teenager" which is completely untrue because I am in all accelerated and AP classes that I could be taking. I don't even need a job, I babysit for this lady and make much more than I'd be making for minimum wage. How can I convince her to let me get it done? And do you think I'd look good with it? I've had a major crush on my best friend Matt for a while now, we've known each other since kindergarten and have gotten really close this year (we're 15). We instant message, talk on the phone, have tons of stuff in common and get along great. But many times I see him looking into my eyes longer or brushing his hand against me or hugging me longer. According to the rest of the population, over exaggerating of course, he likes me back but is too scared to do anything about it since we have such a good friendship that he wouldn't want to mess anything up. I'd love to have the confident to just tell him flat out that I like him but I have the biggest fear of rejection there is. I'll probably be kicking myself over it if nothing is ever done, but I can't bring myself to be the one to do it. How can I let him know I like him? Or finally get him to be the one to ask him out? Advice please?

Why?

I have a crush on my best friend, but I'm not sure how he feels about me. We're 15 by the way. He sits with me on the bus even though there are only six people on it so there are tons of open seats, he IMs me every time he comes online, we talk on the phone, and a lot of people say that in the end we'll probably end up being married. But I'm tired of waiting around for him to bring something up, and I'm not sure how I would. I don't want to ruin our solid friendship by asking him out, I'd rather wait for him. Is he just not thinking of me that way, or is he too shy himself?

I really want one for when my contract ends next month, but I have to pay the $300 myself since my parents don't feel the need to buy me an expensive phone when I can get an ugly flip phone for free. Is it worth buying? Or do you recommend another phone?
