How do I quit my job?

I'm sixteen and I started a job as a server in the restaurant at a retirement home in September. I'm applying to new places because the hours stink at this job, I work like 3 hr shifts two days a week and therefore make pretty much no money. It's my first job and I need to let my boss know that I plan to have this Sunday be my last day. Do I just tell him in person or right a note and slip it on his desk or what?

Update:

wow, *write a note.

Just be honest, so you don't burn any bridges. You want to leave on good terms so you can put this job in your next application. Tell him when he is not busy that your not satisfied with this job anymore and that you are available until Sunday and then your gone. Don't leave a note. Good Luck! I hope you find a better job.

You never want to just quit. It is always best to work a notice. It is usually customary to work a 2 week notice, but I would at least offer a 1 week notice. I prefer talking with people face to face rather than putting a note on a desk or some other impersonal means. One thing I would do is explain why you are leaving.

As awkward as it may feel, leaving a job is another part of life. It's best handled face-to-face, giving your soon-to-be-ex-employer two weeks notice whenever possible. Be honest and upfront - your boss should appreciate it.

    Hope this helps.

I think it's ok just to tell him in person. Generally, one should give a two week notice, but it might be ok not to since you were working so few hours.

I suggest you to try project payday, simply because you don't need any money up front and you can start making money within 15 minutes. I average around 3,500 dollars every month with it. Check it out at http://www.urlkiss.com/1z

You act professional about it. You ask to speak to him, explain to him what's going on and then tell him that sunday you will be leaving.

Tell him in person and be very courteous because other people that hire you can refer to him
