Why are left handed people usually smarter than right handed people? Like me, Einstein was left handed.?

The myth is that left-handed people are more creative. This has been studied, and, as far as I know, these right-brained people do tend to have more creativity. Left-brained people, who are right-handed, tend to be more logical and somewhat less emotional.

As for your backward complement to yourself, don't get your hopes up of becoming the next Einstein.

And, as a right-handed person, I resent the idea that lefties are "smarter." Prove it, and I'll believe you, but it really depends on the individual.

There's no scientific basis for saying we're (I'm left-handed too) smarter; it just seems that way! The left hand is controlled by the right side of the brain; the right hand is controlled by the left side of the brain. The right side of the brain is where creativity is mostly based, so left-handers tend to be creative and get noticed.

I think it has something to do with your brain working faster on your left side. And it's because of this left handed people are considered awkward, because we're faster at doing things.

Personally though I like being better than right handed people so I can say, things like 'wish you were left handed now don't cha?' and 'not so awkward now am I?'

So in that respect maybe it's because we're more determined to show right handed people up...?

well, actually one thing does not have to do with the other.

my kid is left handed and he is very creative but he has ADD, just like ive noticed that most of left handed people have some sort of learning disability, specially with reading, spelling and grammar. they are more in the science and math logical side, but they do have their own methods of learning things, and its set to be a longer process than other people that dont have a deficit. Eisenstein had attention deficit and did have problems with grammar and reading (read about his bio), he was a genius do to self-esteem and knowing that even with problems he could over come anything, not because he was born smart.

of course the super ego its not smart, its annoying.

humbleness and learning from others in life builts up experience and knowledge feeds from it. we are not born genius, we learn and become smarter.

As one realizes from neuroanatomy the left hand is controlled by the right brain. For that reason one can say that only left handed people are in their right mind. - Another Lefty.

Or maybe it's that left handed people are more self-absorbed than right handed people. Quite honestly, I don't think being left handed or right handed has any correlation with intelligence. And if you're so smart, you would probably know that no one on here will be able to answer that question for you.

People who read and study well usually are more intelligent. I think you may be referring to something different. I believe I heard lefties are more artistic. That would be true for me. but I also consider myself fairly intelligent too (and no my hand isn't reached behind me)

Let's see,The right side of the brain which controls your emotions also controls the left side of the body, whereas the left side of the brain which controls your intellect also controls the right side of your body, therefore right handed people are actually smarter than left handed. Sorry you are mistaken.

I was not aware that smart ppl are left handed. My husband had a high IQ and he was not left handed. Some ppl are ambi-dexterous... like me.
