Why are some Americand afraid to defend themselves? Be it a gun in the home or a prison in Cuba?

Update:

As a democracy we have participatory responsibility to determin how we defend ourselves. So I want to know why some of us feel that we do not need to have a gun in the home to protect ourselves at home or a prison in Cuba to protect ourselves abroad?

"Oh", you must be refering to morons like

    "Katie W" and "Love Canada".

    "Katie" said:

"How many people with guns actually use them to defend themselves? (Outside of criminals.)"

She can't seem to figure out that for people to "defend" themselve's, automaticaly rules out "criminal" from their actions. Otherwise the word "defend" would not be used if it were even possible that their actions may have been criminal. Still, she combines

    "defend" with "criminal".

Also, people like her need to realize that the dangerous criminals like the ones who use guns illegaly, are more often people whom subscribe to the life/world views and ideals that are promoted, supported and defended by the same political party who stands against the 2nd ammendment right to own firearms. Also, the ammendment doesn't put a limit on the number of firearms an American can own.

Once the Marxist Democrats realize or stop denying that the above written is true. Then they will perhaps be capable of realizing what would be a truely effective solution to the problems of murder, strong arm robbery and crimes of that nature.

The solution is to empose strict Democrat Views Control. Since that is the true source of the killer problems which this topic does entail.

    "Ahh Yes", Then there is the absolutely brilliant answer from "LoveCanada";

    "Hitler would agree with you".

There should be a law disallowing individuals from speaking of history(or anything pertinant to history) unless they can first prove that they even know the definition of the word history.

"LovelyCanadaBoy" ought to know that one of the first things that the Nazis did after obtaining complete national power, was to make ownership of firearms by the citizens of Germany, "illegal".

In fact, Hitler would totaly agree with

"LoveCanada". Just as "LoveCanada" has agreed with Hitler.

They make a lovely couple, don't they?

It seems that nobody was capable of figuring out that you were refering to Guantanamo Bay. I've often found that most people will know what your talking about when you say Guantanamo Bay, or better yet "GitMo". However, of those same people, most of them have not the slightest clue that Guantanamo is in Cuba.

Do me a favor American, pass on my little message to the Marxist's that don't know they are. : )

OK people it took a while but I get the point. For those who talk about how Cuba hates us you are missing something, we freed Cuba and we hold a prison there. That prison is the famous Gitmo. At first I was wondering why I would care about a prison in Cuba to protect me, since I had no intention of going to Cuba, but then I remembered where Gitmo is. Anyway I don't think most care about Gitmo per say. The problem was about the use of torture. The other problem is that people were rounded up and not given any sort of trial for a long period of time. They found plenty that should have never been there, and look how long it took for them to be released. Seriously no one cared about Gitmo until recently and we have held a prision there for decades.

It will never happen. The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that protects the right to keep and bear arms. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, along with the rest of the Bill of Rights. The end.

We are most definitely not afraid to defend ourselves in our homes! If the truth be told, probably most homes already had some sort of gun in their homes before it became legal to have a hand gun for protection. We had a shotgun, used for hunting, right! Both my spouse & I knew how to use that gun, we both had hunted, for real! I don't get the Cuban part of your question, sorry.

How many people with guns actually use them to defend themselves? (Outside of criminals.) And how many use them to hurt and kill other people outside of self-defense? And how many kids or even adults accidentally shoot someone just because the darn thing was there and loaded "just in case" and they panicked needlessly, or were just playing with it?

I saw an article a few days ago about an ex-felon who was busted having guns in his house; he claimed that he had to have them for self-defense. He had EIGHT of 'em. That's not self-defense, that's an arsenal. How many different ways do you need to feel threatened to "need" to have that many different ways to kill people?

I have never owned a gun. I have never felt threatened enough to feel the need for one. I don't stick around violent or paranoid people. I don't live in bad areas. I don't taunt crazy people or play with drug addicts. I have no desire to have the capability to easily kill people.

... I don't know what you mean about "a prison in Cuba". Cuba HATES us. They certainly wouldn't let us house prisoners there.
