How does the body route several glasses of water through your digestive system?
Food takes 24 hours, but when it comes to drinking more than a glass of water, it will only take less than an hour to pass through your system. What path does the water take and how is it separated from the food?

The absorption of water depends on how much the body needs it, a person who is dehydrated will absorb the water earlier on in the GI tract and in higher quantities. *Most* water is absorbed by the large intestine apparently, however in the case of dehydration more and more is absorbed by the small intestine or even the stomach. "Separation" from food is simpler than one might think, I believe the liquid portion simply flows with greater ease past the many sphincters in the GI tract that prohibit food entry until digestion/absorption is complete.

Take two brussel sprouts to pave the way and call me in the morning. There is never a quick response from a ping pong ball but everything will work out.
