things that make me think you're not old enough to get a tattoo:

1 - you don't know how to spell "tattoo"

2 - you don't know the difference between "to" and "too"

3 - you want one of the most common tattoos ever

    honestly.....if you're old/mature enough to get a tattoo

and you've fully thought about the ramifications that can come from such a visible tattoo, go for it

but if I'm anywhere close to right....and you're 16-17.....you might want to hold off for a couple years

    now to answer:

the wrist is generally a more painful area

but nobody can tell you how much it will hurt you

it varies from person to person

Source(s): update: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjpHP... I was right (for the record) honestly.........having visible tattoos can keep you from getting jobs I'm assuming you have little to no idea what you'll be doing in 10 years.....so do you really want to risk not getting a great job because of a generic/overdone tattoo that you got when you were 16?

There is no straight answer to this. Everyone has their own opinion about the pain and tattoos. Basically it varies from person to person depending on how your body takes it. What hurts one person may not hurt the next or may hurt them even more. Also it seems the more tattoos you get the less they hurt (in my opinion). It also seems to me the bigger the tattoo the more it hurts just because your body is already annoyed and sore. But other people say your body numbs after a while. See so one person will tell you something but the next will tell you the complete opposite. Everyone tells me how the tops of the feet is suppose to be really painful and I have both of them covered and it didn't hurt much at all. Again everyone takes pain different and has different sensitive spots on their body. Also the tattooist could have a heavy hand which will make it hurt more. The bottom line is that the pain is just temporary and will go away. The tattoo will be with you forever. So don't worry about the pain, just put alot of thought into the tattoo and the placement of the tattoo since that is what stays. If you really want a tattoo, the pain doesn't matter. If your really worried about the pain, you don't want the tattoo enough and shouldn't get it. Definitely put alot of thought into the tattoo. The stars is something everyone is getting. I suggest putting more thought into it and getting something orginal that is meaningful to you. Yeah stars are "cool and trendy" right now, but does it have a meaning to you? What is going to happen years from now, are you still going to be happy with the stars that have no meaning on your wrist and are now no longer "cool and trendy"? Probably not, but if it is a tattoo that has meaning to you, you have a bettter chance of still being happy with it years from now, cause it will still hold a meaning. Also I don't know how old you are, but I am guessing if your getting a tattoo of stars on your wrist, your not too old, think about what having a tattoo on your wrist means. Tattoos are not accepted in every job field. Is it something you will want to deal with hiding every day if needed or finding a different job? And when your older with your own kids and grandkids, is it something you want showing like that. Definetly don't worry about the pain, put that concern in getting the right tattoo. But of course, its your body, so do as you wish.

Personally its going to be sore where ever you get one its not too bad on your wrist but it will be a little painful because you skin is quite thin and there are alot of muscles and tendons in that area! My tip don't get drunk the night before, have a good breakfast, take a sugary drink with you and take some ibuprofen an hour before!

I'm getting a tattoo on my wrist too and Iv been told that its not a painful as people try to make out. Iv got one on the bottom of my back and that was soooo painful. Its obviously going to hurt but it shouldn't be that bad. You'll probably get it done before I get mine and Id like to know how much it hurt. Id be grateful if you let me know somehow.

Spare your hands and wrists until you have a secure job, unless you do and they know before hand on how your going to alter your appearance. I tattooed my hands very young and as nice as the tattoos are getting a job blows. BUT enough of me sounding like you mother. You should to negative space stars on your knuckles basically is a star with no outline just shading in the shape of the star. Also pick a funny 8 lettered word to put across or 2 four letterd words.

I've had 4 tattoos done. The two on my wrist were the least painful.

You are shoving needles into thin skin over and over again, creating a big open wound. It's going to hurt and big sore afterwards.

Tattoo is spelled at the top as part of the category.

I have several tattoos on different parts of my body. By far, the most painful one was in the center of my lower back. I found that doing deep regulated breathing helps in controlling the pain factor.

Enjoy your new tattoo. Remember, take care of it.

I have fourteen tattoos and the most painful was the middle of my chest. Don't get one or, if you must, get a transfer one that you can remove. In forty years time, the senior citizen's care homes in England will be packed with little old ladies with Nordic rune tattoos in the small of their backs, oh, and one old lady with three black stars on her wrist!

that's almost the same as my friend got, hers in on her wrist too, she says it wasn't that sore!
