What are the 50 most common street attacks?

I'm just curious: I've been around for a day or two, seen quite a number of "street" fights, unfortunately been involved in a couple, but for the life of me I am unable to identify more than a handful of attacks that are commonplace. It appears that we have a "street" expert in our midst, so I would like to respectfully and humbly ask said "expert" if he would be so kind as to enlighten all of us on just what these 50 attacks are, so that we may better prepare ourselves to be as skillful in our dealings with "street" situations as he.

To any others who have knowledge on what these 50 attacks are, your input would be MOST welcome, as I have only had 20 years of military training martial arts study, and feel that without this particular knowledge, my training will be incomplete and ineffective.

Update:

Dek3, THIS is how I cae up with the number 50:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkJNY...

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqV3y...

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aj5wu...

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aisyn...

Apparently there are 50 of the myriad and sundry attacks and variations that are most commonly used by skilled "street" fighters. I was unaware that there was even a "street fighting" training regimen, or I would have taken it long ago so that I would know what these most common techniques are!!

Update 2:

Katana - never thought about #9, but I'd have to say that would be one of the most effective (although I don't know about common - don't know ANYONE who actually has their hands on one of those). And you KNOW we aren't supposed to even ADMIT that there are 10 highly secret, highly deadly, Super Ninja techniques...oh, damn, I just mentioned it, didn't I?? Oh well, send the trolls, I'm hungry, anyways...

Update 3:

WEll, a few lists so far, some with fifty and some WOEFULLY short of fifty, but it doesn't appear at first glance that there is any commonality to them. Could we have been misled by our "expert"? Is it possible that he simply counted his fingers andf toes, and that was the number he came up with?? Rat6969, help me please!!!

Update 4:

Nice list, Kangaroo, and alphabetical too!! I suppose these COULD qualify, being as there are fifty of them, but not so sure about them being the MOST common. And none of yours match anyone elses either, not to mention that it's been MONTHS since I saw a Pikachu, Squirtle, or Graveler roaming the streets...

I'm beginning to suspect that I was misled on this one by our "expert"...

Update 5:

No, Sensei Scandal, definintely NOT a "rat"...don't like rats (except with ketchup, and then only if I've been stranded on a desert island for weeks with no food, and just happen to have both rats AND an unspoiled bottle of ketchup handy)...If you look carefully, you might recognize a pattern from certain users here that you will find amusing and fun to participate in...as well as being effective towards a particular goal (you sound like a smart guy, I bet you can figure it out...lol)

Update 6:

when I get so many good answers, I usually pick the one that gets the most thmbs up. Some pretty good ones here to be sure, but only TWO of you could get to 50 (and one is suspect...lol...pokemon...I love it)

I'll give this another day or two, then make my decision...thank you all for participating in my quest for knowledge!!

    2. A hook or sucker punch to the face

    3. minimum 2 people assaults you

    8. Sneaky knife attack without you noticing the guy holding a hidden knife under his sleeve, they dont come at you with a knife revealed anymore, they are cowards

    9. Thrust Kick from any direction (be attentive and maintain distance)

    16. Charging attack

    17......

How did you come up with the number 50?

Street attacks vary from verbal assault to aggravated assault & battery, therefore the number can range over a wide spectra of attacks.

The most common is probably a verbal assault. You can get arrested for a verbal assault on a cop; it is called "utterances".

The next common street assault might be getting grabbed. Getting grabbed in any form or manifistation whether its someone grabbing your clothing, backpack, wrist, or putting you into a head lock or bear hug.

Then you have slaps to the back, face, or back of the head.

Another common assault is the 'sucka punch'. Someone just trying to deck you with one whack to the head.

Then you have the various kicks. To the shins, groin, or body whether standing or supine.

Then you have weapons assault. Gang assault. Attempted rape assault. Extortion assault. Police assault.

Source(s): It is my humble opinion that the common type of street assaults can easily surpass fifty.

Yeah, I kind of have to agree with you. I don't know if you could get 50 different techniques out of most street fighters unless you count throwing stuff or hitting people with different stuff as individual techniques. You know like the hitting someone with a beer bottle technique and then the pool cue technique. Most street fighters throw crazy looping hay makers and not too much else, maybe try to tie up with you and knock you down and then throw more big crazy punches on the ground.

I know that in a lot of the martial arts that I have studied we have done street defense or self defense, but most of that was stuff that was beyond most street fighters. It is a good idea to be prepared for some common holds and I guess you could have a street fighter that is a big WWE fan and he could try some phony wrestling moves on you, but honestly that would most likely just make me laugh.

I don't know who the street fighting expert you are talking about is, but yeah I agree I would like to hear what they think the 50 most common street fighting techniques are. And I am not trying to bust anybody out or call anybody out, but I would like to hear from someone who considers themself to be a street fighting expert would have to say about this.

Shots to the groin, eye gouging, elbows, headbuts, knees to the groin, kicks to the shins, placing someone in a headlock and hitting them at the same time, wild flurries of unbalanced punches, kicking while down; amateur street fighters will kick like they were kicking a kickball, while experienced street brawlers will stomp using the ball of the foot. Climbing on top of them and then raining down punches on them. Clinching them and then throwing knees and elbows whil in the clinch position, a lot like a Muay Thai fight actually. Grabbing the forehead, and with a fast jerking motion slamming the victim's back of the head against the wall. Or, grabbing and pulling of the ear, almost forgot that one. Grabbing by the hair and kneeing the face. Using the back of the head to break the nose of someone attempting a nelson.

As a general rule, all that counts as "street fighting," and, usually, it will happen within the space of 2 seconds, the nastier fights can drag on up to 5 minutes, and its a hellish 5 minutes, even if you are "winning."

    ..........................

It is better not to fight man, fighting is nasty.

    peace.

I don't know see more than a few ways that a fight may occur, but can have many variations. Basically fights happen by:

    1) A punch

    2) A kick

    3) a grab

Tons of variations, but that is about it, unless you introduce weapons, gun, knife, club, .... etc.
