National Rescue Ride

The rescue where I got my TBX from is participating - Tender Mercy in Western New York. Even after I adopted him, I've managed to stay pretty active in the group as well, so I'm really excited about this.

I'm planning on riding... all going well! My boy is still very, very greenbroke, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll be solid enough to go in October; we're putting in some serious work now to get there. Hopefully our first real outing will be the chance to help other horses find someone to spoil them rotten, too!

We're trying to do our part to help spread the word, too... there's some advantages to being in the media, and when you get the chance to help a cause like this, it makes all the long days worthwhile. TMER rescued a mare from a meat auction 7 years ago, not realizing she was pregnant until they got her back to the rescue. Without the wonderful people at the rescue, my boy never would have gotten to take a breath - and that's the greatest gift anyone could ever give.
