National Rescue Ride

Anyone participating in a National Rescue Ride?

http://www.nationalrescueride.org/

Today was the first I'd even heard of this, and I think it's a fantastic thing, but unfortunately there are none happening within 300 miles of me. People on this forum talk all the time about what they can do to help horses, so here is a very pro-active thing to do! It's better than just giving advice over the computer...LOL! Now I think I better put my money where my mouth is and sponsor someone who IS riding!

I know this isn't really a question, I was really just trying to spread info about this, but I really would like to know who is participating because I'd like to see how much publicity this is getting and if it will therefore be successful.

The rescue where I got my TBX from is participating - Tender Mercy in Western New York. Even after I adopted him, I've managed to stay pretty active in the group as well, so I'm really excited about this.

I'm planning on riding... all going well! My boy is still very, very greenbroke, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll be solid enough to go in October; we're putting in some serious work now to get there. Hopefully our first real outing will be the chance to help other horses find someone to spoil them rotten, too!

We're trying to do our part to help spread the word, too... there's some advantages to being in the media, and when you get the chance to help a cause like this, it makes all the long days worthwhile. TMER rescued a mare from a meat auction 7 years ago, not realizing she was pregnant until they got her back to the rescue. Without the wonderful people at the rescue, my boy never would have gotten to take a breath - and that's the greatest gift anyone could ever give.

I consider this can be a exceptional concept and is going to what anybody stated awhile in the past approximately the complete feed retailer factor. Buy a bag of feed and pay for one million/two of a different and the feed retailer will donate the opposite part and provide the again to a rescue organization. I do this right here. I could aid in a heartbeat, inform me what to do. I paintings at a radio station, correctly the largest nation station in Northern California (17 counties). I can placed a few vigor at the back of it and could be pleased too! Horses right here desperately want aid, I see it daily. They do spay and neuter clinics for puppies and cats - what approximately a geld your horse day on the vet? Get a reduction to reduce the ones suckers off and hold the populace down! It could aid if we would restrict the quantity of stallions strolling round and coming into the mistaken palms.
