It's difficult to say because I do not know specifically what you're doing now. I've been a personal trainer for over 10 years and most of my women clients have a tendancy to deprive themselves dieting. I'm not a doctor, so the following should not be seen as medical advice. Without getting too technical try to imagine the body as a bank account. When you have very little money coming in you tend to stretch every penny, correct? And when you have money coming in from everywhere, you tend to spend more, right? The body is no different; as long as there are no pre-existing medical conditions like thyroid or hormonal problems. The body will conserve calories on a restrictive diet to protect itself. This is from 1000's of years of human development; it does'nt know that you want to lose weight.
Now that being said if you want your body to respond you must give it what it wants. That is, provide it with an abundance of NUTRITIOUS foods...fruits and vegetables as close to their original state (raw) as possible. Lean meats such as fish, chicken, and poultry to provide you with protein, because as you do this it will not be necessary to count calories; your diet already will be low cal & nutrient dense. Substitute sodas and most juices with water- this is so important to weight loss. Water is very underrated in weight loss and overall health. Eat small portions and eat every 3hrs or so. You probably won't want to eat but you must do it anyway, just a little at first until your body adjusts- don't stuff yourself. Take out carbs from your last meal, which should be no later than 7pm. Finally, take your time and realize this is a journey, not a destination. Before you know it, you will have lost the weight. There are many ways to lose weight, but this is the best way to keep it off. A few websites to give you tips and guidance are below.

nothing to worry about. some diets aren't right for some people. if the low carb diet doesn't work, then that just means that you normally don't eat many carbs in the first place. i reccomend going back to a low calorie diet. after you get to your goal, try keeping everything up. OH! YEAH! this really REALLY helps::::

also, try mixing up your workout routines. when you work out only one part, your body gets used to it. try walking with small weights one week, jogging or running another, swimming another, yoga another, and weight lifting and ab workouts another.
Also try eating 6 small meals a day to boost your metabolism. drink 10 glasses of water per day. sleep (this raises your metabolism too). and make sure that when you work you get up and do small amounts of exercise at a time.
