Christians, do you know about this situation in Iraq? Does the White House? Does McCain? Does Obama?
From The Ottawa Citizen
Published: Wednesday, June 18, 2008
Muslim militants are crucifying children to terrorize their Christian parents into fleeing Iraq, a parliamentary committee studying the persecution of religious minorities heard yesterday.
Since the war began in 2003, about 12 children, many as young as 10, have been kidnapped and killed, then nailed to makeshift crosses near their homes to terrify and torment their parents.
One infant was snatched, decapitated, burned and left on his mother's doorstep, the committee was told.
Filham Isaac, speaking for the Nineveh Advocacy Committee, told the human rights committee that Iraqi Christian churches were bombed, clergy murdered and unveiled Iraqi women raped or scarred with acid.
It's part of a systemic -- and very effective -- campaign to ethnically cleanse the area of any non-Muslims, he said.
Chaldean and Assyrian Christians, known as Chaldo-Assyrians, were once the largest Christian minority in Iraq. They are also the oldest, descendants of ancient Mesopotamians who adopted Christianity in the first century.
The Chaldean Catholic Church, the Syrian Catholic Church, the Syriac Orthodox Church and the Church of the East are among the Christian churches in Iraq.
Today, about 300,000, or one in three, is a refugee, he said.
"It's at a crisis point," Mr. Isaac's colleague, Zaya Oshana, said later. "Christians will be completely annihilated."
rukidding: it's all bad. And Serbs are not the only people who murdered people in the Balkans---that's all going to be common knowledge soon. I'll post the link to the article and you will see how minority Muslims are being treated there as well.
By "there" I mean Iraq, not the Balkans.
prod: can't complain, thanks!

I hate to hear this and I really wish I could just tell you I don't believe you and move on, but inside I feel it's true. The Assyrian Christians Played a big role in helping the Original Muslims survive 1400 years ago when their numbers were small and the people of Mecca were hell bent on subduing them, So it really is a batrayal

Yes, I am an assyrian. I haven't heard about that until now. But assyrians have been presecuted even in the first world war, or so, however, groups of people have been arguing whether or not this is indeed true. Hitler supposedly once said something like this: "the leader of genius has the power to make different enemies fight together."

This is just another result of America's invasion. Christian fathers are killed daily. This never happened under Saddam. Bush has done more hare to Iraq than the 4000+ Americans killed and the estimated 1,000,000 Iraqi killed. Bush and Cheney both should be tried for war crimes in The Hague.

Yes apparently they were better protected when Saddam was in power
(his right hand man was a christian) but he was killing his own people so he needed to be removed
now it's a free for all
yes the surge is working can you imagine if it wasn't?
they are afraid to have the US protect them because muslims will think they are collaborating with the enemy
Christians are used to be prosecuted for their faith
Muslim extremists want us all dead didn't 911 prove this?

This is the reason why I don't understand why so many Americans are against the war in iraq. Not just because of the torture and murder of Christians, but everyone who was bullied, tortured, killed and lived in fear of the evil Sadaam. He was so wicked- and people disregard his terrorism at home and abroad as many do the holocaust. It is so disturbing

Yes, they do know. The American Christians are always sending aid over to the Christian Iraqi's.

I fail to understand your point. This has been an issue way before the war began. Thats why it was so important for us to get rid of Suddam he was gassing his own people and creating concentration camps for the people in Iraq.
Iraq will always be hell on earth and if you are an educated christian you would know this because Iraq is current day Anctient Babylon.

Yep - the so-called 'religion of peace' (I mean submission) is responsible and needs to be held accountable worldwide for flagrant and widespread crimes against humanity!
