Just finished Breaking Dawn and can't help but wonder if anyone else thinks SM dropped the ball?

The first 7 chapters were awesome, but it really seemed like she became a slave to the publishing company after that. I'm curious if anyone else was disappointed in the final book of Twilight? By the way- I LOVE THE FIRST THREE BOOKS !!!!

Update:

To all who are responding, thank you for not making me feel crazy!!! This is a tough choice for best answer!

She dropped the ball, nuked the fridge and JUMPED THE SHARK!

She should just recall ALL the Breaking Dawn books and write a new one after she checks into rehab.

Terrible terrible terrible! I just finished the book and, honestly, I was thoroughly disappointed in Stephenie. Breaking Dawn didn't flow like Twilight at all. I liked the first part, from Bella's perspective. It made sense to me. I didn't think it was really great, but it was okay. And then we find out that Bella is pregnant with a half-vampire, half-human??? WHAT IS THAT??? This goes against everything Stephenie has said about vampires not being able to have kids!!!! I was so angry, and was on Edward's side when he said they'd take it out of Rosalie wasn't against it. I was starting to like Rosalie when she told Bella about her past in Eclipse, but now I was ready to tear her head off myself. Didn't she care about Bella's, her new sister-in-law, life? How could she be so cruel?! I've never been a fan of Jacob, but I loved him in Breaking Dawn, because I related to everything he was thinking... and then he goes on imprints on the kid. That threw me over the edge, and I had to grit my teeth and push on, determined to finish the book, though I was ready to throw it out the window, hopefully into a wood chipper. And then Bella freaking out about him imprinting, what was that? I totally didn't get it. Overall, terrible, just terrible. I don't know how Stephenie is proud publishing that. It taints the Twilight name. I'll give it a few days, maybe re-read the book, and try to make sense of it all, but as of now, I'm just glad it's over.

i also loved, i mean like adored the first the books. i feel like breaking dawn should have been much better. i mean this was supposed to be the book of the summer. Twilight fans waited a while for this to come out and then most, although not all, we very upset and disappointed. i feel like it should have been much better and many of the ideas in the book should have been taken out!

I enjoyed Twilight, New Moon was slightly worse, Eclipse a little worse and Breaking Dawn was terrible! I can honestly say it was the worst book I've ever read! Definitely disappointed in it as are many others. I saw it coming though, but I was hoping she'd improve after the last two started getting worse.

breaking dawn just made the series feel like closure was not enough.

there was no need for nessie.

i thought i was the only one who didnt really like it, but now i feel better knowing that other ppl think that it didnt live up to the hype as well.

    Source(s): i read the book...

Yeah, Breaking Dawn sucked. Mind you, I thought all of them sucked. But Breaking Dawn sucked the most. It's the paragon of sucky books.

I was so incredibly disappointed. I was hoping she would redeem herself with this book, and she just made me hate the series more.

I know this may seem ignorant, but Eclipse was the end for me. That book was awfffullll. Jake coming back was great, but that was only at the beginning. all downhill from there

    yeah, it was pretty crap.

i loved jacob throughout the whole book, i didn't hate edward as much, but my dislike of bella turned into hate and my hatred of rose turned into an abhorrence.

    and RENESMEE?

    are you kidding?

    yuck.

I didn't think it sucked. I think it was the only way to end the story. If Stephenie Meyer really was a slave to her publishers then edward would have died and she would have ended up with jacob. With the series there has to be conclusive and final ending that will let readers know that this was the end of series. Also, if you read it all in one sitting which is what i did, then your brain is going to be to fried to asorb the last "book" as well as the first. If you try to reread it slowly and over a couple of sittings then i hope your prespective will be changed.
