Now that it's over, what's your thoughts on the Yankees-Angels series?

OK, the Yankees and Angels split the 4-game series (which I thought they would, by the way. And yes, I know the Angels didn't have Torii Hunter and Vlad Guerrero today.).. So, what does this make you think of either team, from a true analysis standpoint, for the rest of the season? For me, the split should give the Yanks some confidence as they hit the road that they can hang with the best of the American League.

Update:

AdrenalineJunkie: I might be biased saying this, but Friday night's game was winnable for the Yankees. It could have gone either way. Too bad they wasted a great start from Ponson by not hitting.

it was a good series and an Impressive for the Yankees splitting with the Angels

This was a huge series. I wasn't predicting a split so much as hoping for it. I was sure we would win one by blind luck and hoped for another by talent.

Instead, we split and nearly won the series. This, to me, proves that the Yankees are capable of playing competitive ball against the best of the best. This proved the me that the Yankees are capable of playing in the post-season. The only challenge is getting there.

Say what you want about today's game-- there were errors, the Angels were without key players-- but the Yankees were at least able to capitalize on these factors. The same factors could easily play into a post-season game. It's all a matter of luck.

    Great series for the Yankees.

This game and the series was a true Clash of the Titans. It now becomes the Angels year to win it all and the Yankees become the spoiler. ( no more needed be said with the Texieria Grand-Slam) if the Yankees can overcome Tampa and Boston (who I feel are on the downward swing) meet the Angels in the ALCS ... it will be and should prove to be a series for the ages. It may be a Subway series year: Yankees-Mets or quite possibly Angels- Dodgers.. October should be great!

Great series for the yankees....3 of the 4 games were winnable and they managed to get 2 straight great hitting games. Nady got out of his 2 1/2 day slump and came up big and Ponson had a great start. If they keep playing like the way they did in games 2-4 they got a shot to go far

Personally the Yankees HAD TO have this game for the their confidence and they did it was amazing, okay the first game Pettitte did not have it , result Yankees loose, Ponson and Santana who would of taught it would;d be a Pitching duel, that was a hard lost for the Yankees. Moose did amazing 7strong inning and retired like the last15 batters he faced nice.

And today the game that was a MUST Win for the Yankees, to comeback from a 5-0 , it was amazing against lackey , much better but the Angels defense 4E not angel like Baseball, then the 8th inning all ways good until texiera hit that GS , my mouth was wide open i was in a stage i could not believe that happened but still had faith my Yankees could comeback and we did

I think we could won 3 of 4 , but i will take 2 of 4 and be happy and move on to Texas

Honestly the yanks should have won 3 out of 4, they lost the 1-0 game and the winning hit came on Rivera, and that doesnt happen very often. This should show the people that the yanks are a serious contender, and winning the last 2 should help them get back on track and go into texas and sweep them. Everybody is knockin on ponson and he pitched an amazing game, who would have thought 7 scoreless innings out of him? And moose was just nasty, and prob the best pitcher on the staff right now. And we will see next week hopefully Joba can pitch against them. And they play next weekend in Cali so we will see where both teams are.

Personally I thought that the Angels would have taken 3 of the 4 games. I agree that the Yankees will carry the momentum on this road trip. As for the Angels, they should continue to do what they do and should finish as the best team in baseball, which they are.

Not going to hurt the Angels either way. They are going to win this division no matter what. They're up like 12 games. The Yankees needed these games not only to keep pace with Boston and Tampa who just keep winning, but to give them a positive outlook on their upcoming road trip. It's a good sign that their offense is producing and able to come back a couple times. The only thing that should concern them is Rasner. Maybe they should've traded for Washburn. Maybe they still can with waivers. Nady looks good, Pudge looks good. Farnsworth blew the game today for the Tigers. Looks like a very good deadline for the Yanks and I think they can make the playoffs.

Great game! But there won't be that many errors on the angels side next time. Although I KNEW a-rod was going to hit that ball into what could have been a double play...ugh.

i think the angels will still win the season series cause the rest are in anaheim and there wont be so many errors either.and i hope it gives the yankees confidence cause im going for them to take the wild card
