How can i host games on Warcraft 3 the Frozen Throne running windows vistax64 and AVG 8.0?

Ok so i get internet through a local service provider via a modem which then goes through a wired router ( dynex DX-E402 ) through an ethernet cable to my computer, am running AVG 8.0 with gaming mode enabled.... and windows 64 bit vista, yet i cannot host games. I have no problems joining but i need to be able to host for an enjoyable time. THANKS

Your problem is the firewall in your router, you need to open up the ports 6112-6119 to host games. A good guide on how to do this can be found at www.portforward.com

Hosting on warcraft games is rare because blizzard messed up on this part of the game. You probably have a router if you have more than one computer, or if you have a computer and an xbox or something. I am not sure which slot has to be open, but one of the slots that you plug your computer into the router has to be open (nothing plugged into) in order to host warcraft games. I myself can't host, I have before but I had to unplug some stuff.
