They're definitely a fun team to watch, a lot of offense and excitement with their games, unfortunately that's the same case for the opposing team usually, lots of offense. If they could get some pitching they'd contend for a wild card spot but it's been a while since they could keep a solid starting pitcher.

the answer to the question is no. If they had a better record, they would have had a chance, but New York or Boston will take the wild card if Tampa Bay keep playing the way they have performed all year. Without great pitching, hitting, and a team chemistry that are all working in harmony with each other, they may finish the season with 85 wins, but it has been projected that the top three teams in the east will be in the middle 90's for wins this year and that is too many to overcome with fifty games left. Texas sat at 57 wins entering play tonight. I don't see them going 40-11 the rest of the season to make it close. Stranger things have happened though to make even the most incredible odds appear wrong.

I have to say no, just because the competition in the AL will just be too tough. There will be two teams to deal with from the AL East (between the Rays, Red Sox and Yankees, whichever ones don't win the division). The non-division winner between the Twins and White Sox may figure in too.

Well if they make the playoffs it would be in the wild card. There upcoming schedule has them playing 11 out of 16 plus 500 teams. So I would have to say that they probably won't make it and now the yankees are surging and the redsox are starting warm up and The rays so no sign of slowing daown.

still a lot of games left, but probably not.

like other answers said, if you have great pitching you have a chance to win every game, something the rangers don't have. I see it going to an AL east team, either the rays, red sox, or yankees.

  • I love watching them too.I actually went to a game on wednesday the 30.But to answer your question...Yes,of course!!! our pitching is getting a little better and our hiting is outstanding. We may finish 2nd in our division but if we can keep hitting well and our pitching gets better, watch out Red Sox and Yankees!!!

looks unlikely. you have a combined 3 teams from the east and central that are a few or more games ahead of texas in line for the wildcard. They would have to really pick up the pace.

They average 5.6 runs/game, half a run better than the closest AL team. However, they allow 5.9 runs/game almost a full run worse the the next team. If their new pitching coach (Andy Hawkins) and bullpen coach (don't remember his name) can produce a turn-around real quick (very unlikely), then maybe. My hopes aren't high though.

    No

I love the rangers. every game they seem to make a dramatic comeback n never seem to give up. but with horrible pitching their great offense is going to waste

With the White Sox, Red Sox, and Rays all in the race right now, no way.
