I already know that I was unwanted.
I have always known.
My parents wanted another boy instead.
I don't really care.
I am me and I exist.

A lot would depend on how the person who said that feels about me now. If the person still feels like that, it would hurt. If they changed their mind down the road, it may hurt, but not as much because I would feel like I made a difference in their original opinion.
It would also depend on if I received that info 3rd party (ie from an Aunt, sibling or grandparent) rather than from my own parent(s). I never trust 3rd party info.

I hope you were not told that by your parents! Several years ago, my mother told me that she couldn't care less if she had kids or not. Being an Irish Catholic, she accepted us as we came, but knowing her true feelings made me feel like her having us kids may have gotten in the way of how she really wanted her life to be. It still makes me sad, but then again I'm really sensitive....

My grand-daughter was told that over & over by everyone but me. Her pain breaks my heart. I even wrote a prose about her being born & how beautiful the experience was. I was the birthing coach. Thx for asking.

Given the very real possibility that most conceptions are accidental, or unplanned, it shouldn't make any difference to me.
Hey! I'm alive...what do I care what my parents were thinking during my conception. I see this as their problem, not mine.

By my parents, It would feel really bad. Its kind of mean. But, yes, as long as your loved, there is no problem there :)

Regardless of if my parents wanted me or not, I know in my heart that God wanted me, and that is why I'm alive... so hearing that wouldn't bother me.
