why is touch so important?

The heart doctor told me I had muscular and skeletal stress in my body and then he told me that you need 4hugs to survive, 8 for maintenance and 12 to be well. Why would he tell me that?

    Wrong section - try psychology.

You can train yourself not to "need" it.

Maybe HE wants to "hug" you

The power of a loving touch is like no other. They have done studies on babies who were born with problems. The babies who received touch therapy did much better than those who did not. Our cells respond to touch as they do with laughter, feelings of joy and petting a cat or a dog. We are loving beings and we respond in a positive way to being loved. The next time someone you love hugs you, notice how you feel.

We are a species of pack animals. Pack animals rely on touch as a way of expression and reassurance. If you stay close to your natural instincts you feel better emotionally and mentally. It is a proven fact that being emotionally healthy makes the body healthier.

Not technically, but yes, psychologically you do need human contact. The touch is the most powerful stimulus for your brains emotional components.

And if some parts of your brain are healthy, slowly your body can catch up.

There have been times in my life that words just would not help, but a quiet touch would.. In the lose of a loved one, a friend holding my hand or holding me while I cried helped more than any words.... touching is a contact of love...... go in peace..... God bless

  • Everyone needs to feel loved. Love can do great things for the body and mind. Medically proven.

lol. Wow, you're very.... uhhhh..... young. Maybe immature would be a better word.

How the hell could you not know what that means? He's telling you to relax. You're letting stress get to you.
