Good fried seafood in OC

I recently moved from the east coast and I need a fried seafood fix. I'm talking about clam strips, clam cakes, etc. Does anyone know a great place in Orange County to get this kind of stuff? In Rhode Island, you can get this kind of stuff just about anywhere, but I am having a hard time finding it in the OC. thanks!

Update:

if no one knows of a restaurant that serves it, does anyone know a store where I can buy frozen fried clam strips? (I know I can get them on the internet, but they seem to be fairly expensive online.)

  • There's a place in the Dana Point Harbor where you pick up halfway decent fish n chips. I can't remember the name of the place, but it's nearby where you can pick up one of the ferries (or at least buy the tickets) to Catalina. It's not a sit down restaurant, but counter service. There's picnic tables outside. It's on the wharf, I think.

I'm from Mass, and there's not a whole lot around here to get the type fo cooking you're craving. You're gonna have to learn to love the fish taco out here! You'll have to go to SF and North for the fried stuff. And even then, it's not the same.

There's a pretty decent spot in Santa Monica on the SM Pier. It has everything you like for reasonable price I suppose. You'll pretty much have to hit the coast for fried (yet fresh) seafood.

not sure about how much is fried except crab cakes and fish n chips, but a few places come to mind for you to try.

    1. Taps restaurant in Brea - they have an oyster bar and seafood on the menu

    2. Walt's Wharf in Seal Beach is a seafood restaurant and may have something you are looking for

    3. McCormick & Schmicks http://www.mccormickandschmicks.com/media/Sample%2... here's a menu for you to see - they have one in Anaheim and one in Irvine.

    4. Bluewater Grill - there's one in Newport Beach and one in Tustin http://www.bluewatergrill.com/menus/index/articles... -here's their menu. Their prices are reasonable and the food is good

LOL, do they fry anything there? You might have to head back home or come down here to the Gulf Coast for yummy fried seafood.
