Why people scared of Black people

Because 9 times out of 10 the 'bad guy' on the news that killed/beat up/shot/raped/etc.... is black (or hispanic). It is really sad.

Some people think that black people are loud and obnoxious in a group setting. This could be an experience from a movie theatre for instance. In addition, many black people feel as though the white race owes them something due to their ancestors' slavery, even though the living white population had absolutely no hand or say in the event.

Finally, oftentimes black people are portrayed on TV as being ghetto and unruly, which in fact is racist. However, it is certain that the majority of the american ghettos are inhabited by minorities, which often make these stereotypes appear more truthful than not.

I know right I don't understand either do we look like we will harm you or something. Because when I am shopping for clothes there is always like a white or hispanic person that sees me and looks nervous and then moves aside or just leave. I am not even from the hood I live in a neighbor hood where there are less blacks then a lot of other races.

I mean I am a nice person very easy to get along with people even try to use me because I am nice and it sucks.

It depends on a lot of factors! Of course not all people are bad or scary, but some are! For example, if it's late at night and I'm walking down the street alone and I see a gang of kids walking toward me, I don't care what color they are, they scare me. It's just because of everything negative we hear and believe that's going on!

One learns where it's safe to be and not to be. I teach part-time and I have been threatened, cussed out and yelled at for years. I always tried to get the students in my class (History) to mix it up in study groups and gave them at least 30 minutes to form into committees. The only time I stepped in was when it was all of one type of race. If all the black kids got together, I would make several of them move to other groups, so that we would have parity. The black kids thought it was unfair. So you tell me why this would have caused them to basically threaten my life? Over something like this? I was also knocked unconscious, had a tooth broken out and split lip. Who did it? Black kids. So, have you figured it out yet?

I love all people and especially young people, but this has been my experience in the real world and I can't help it if it doesn't particularly agree with your young philosophy.

Here's the thing. I reckon that this world is just damn right PREDUJICE. Why discriminate one race/culture for someone elses actions. Its like there are some jerks out their - some who are white , some who are black , some who are asian , some who are albino , some who are muslims , hindus , christians , athiests , buddhists - but just because THEM people are 'scary' or 'crazy' or locked up in a mental aslymn it doesnt , actually SHOULDNT be classed as all people in that race are like that. Actually there should be groupings of race - we should just be individuals same goes for the 'popular' kids and the 'nerds' , we are individual and I hate how someone should be scared of someones skin type just because they've seen or come across someone who has that skin type in their life who is threatening. I am not scared of any race , any colour , any beleif or any sex - just the personality of each inidvidual. Whether a person (who dont neceserily have to look creepy) but they are stalking me I would be scared but I wouldnt label them. But I must say some people would say 'yes they are' because of the prejudices of how in this modern day we judge eachother. Not necesserily do black people get treated differently , but they do - same as jews ; muslims ; even christians. and definitely vegetarian and athiests. But I'd ignore this and stand up. But also remember Obama wasn't just elected by black people but white people too - a variety and some black people woted the other person - its about who does the right job. Not race - but personality.

I wouldn't be scared of someone because of their colour. I take people as I find them, there's some nice black people and some not so nice black people, same with white people.

If I was alone and had to pass a gang of youths, then I might feel a bit scared but it has nothing to do with colour.

Some of the awnsers that people have posted are horriable. Its because people of other races are so stereotypical. we are always stereotyped. for one thang thats all the media shows is the bad things about black people. caucasian people do things to all the time, but those are the things they keep hidden thats not what they want america to see. they want you to think that it's all the african americans thats killing up everybody,and it's not that way. there are things that go on in rich neighborhoods ,but they don't report that. people focus on whatever they want. cause if you pay attention to CNN and nancy grace it's actually the whites( MIGHT I SAY NOT ALL WHITES) that are killing all their wives and unborn babies. or they wives are missing. I mean its numerous of those types of murders happening, and one of the guys is still not in jail and they know he did it for fact,and everyday they say they still need more evidence. not only that , what about all the bomb scares and shootings that have been at the universities, my point exactly they were majority white. Im saying all of this to make point that is not african americans. Its UNFORTUNATE that this is the type of hateful world that we live in. we will always go through this until people understand that we all breathe the same ,bleed the same color. we are just as smart and just as intelligent! and last of all we can make it through anything. were humble and strong!!! we don't kill ourselves just cause we can't have something.

Unfortunately most ofetn we are betrayed by the media as thugs, gangsters and thieves. Movies, music and videos, prisons are full of us.

When all people see is a black man with his pants hanging off of his butt in handcuffs and off to jail on the news they become stereotypical of that race of people. Thank God a man like Obama is in the news - someone who speaks well - too bad he is just another politician.

There are so many positive black people doing positive things, unfortunately this is not very exciting news to report.

We are only known for being athletes, bafoon comics, actors and thugs.

I consider my self a scholar at times and have received several rewards unfortunately this didn't make the news or newspapers - a bit boring for our media - a murder is lot more exciting, don't you agree? (lol)

Ho hummmmmmmmm - we shall over come one day - and be judged by the content of our character and not the color of our skin.

Actually hijadedios, if you live in a city where the majority of the people are Black then yes 9 times out of 10 crimes may be from Black people. But if you live in a trailer park, I don't think 9 times out of 10 the crime will be committed by a brother.

well like Biggies mom said that the hood life is glorified on rap songs and videos, its all for show, and really its not like that, and the end of the day you go home like normal people, its too make money from people,propaganda........and its made millions exploiting blacks in a negative way of crime,drugs,sex,money,alcohol,cars,gangs....so people who don't get too be around black people allthe time only have the tv to reply on.

If people are so foolish that they automatically assume that I am going to hurt them, then that is their fault. But I understand a little of where they are coming from. I used to be that way towards white people. All I saw was someone filled with hate against someone who looked different, and I always thought that if they were in a group of more than 3, they belonged to the klan or some other hate group who goes around killing and beating up minorities just for the fun of it. But I don't think that way anymore, but I am still careful of my surroundings.
