What did they test for?
I'm 30 weeks and I just found out that my babys father was cheating on me with different women while we were together. I know at my first prenatal they did the pap, but they didn't really say much about the results. What STD's do they check for routinely, and are there any I need to request?
Please give me serious answers.

They usually check for the more common STD's (Chlamydia, Gonerrhea,Trichominiasis) And they will check you for specifics if you let them know you are worried about a certain one. If they did not call you back about the results or say anything about them at your next appt.-then you are most likely fine..I always wondered why mine NEVER called me back after a test was taken-and when I asked-they said because the results were negative. You're probably fine. But go ahead and ask your OB next time you go in how your results look..They have your whole file with them when they are seeing you. Sorry to hear about your partner..JERK..Good Luck with everything!

Routine they check for everything including HIV... at around 30 weeks they are or should be looking for a bacteria that you may be carrying and its common for a lot of woman to carry it (another short pap, one swab basically)....All it means, if you get a positive result, is that when you start contractions, they will give you a drip of pennicilin that needs to be given every 4 hours i believe, and its just to protect the baby. The odds are low for your baby to get it without the drip, but lowered much more with it...

Bastard. I think they check for all the common std's - but either way, just call your doctor, because it can vary from office to office and state to state. I would also strongly suggest you get checked again since you can't really trust him (obviously), and he may have had contracted something after you had this test - who knows if he's still cheating. It's also possible that you didn't contract it from him until after your previous test. Just have your doctor do it again, you'll want to tell him the why's so he's looking for the right stuff. Since you don't have symptoms, that's good, but there are still other things you could have that don't bring on symptoms, of course.
Good luck.

The common STD tests they check for during a blood test are HIV, hepatitis, syphilis, and some other venereal diseases. I'm not sure if they do STD tests when they do paps. If you had a disease, trust me, they would have told you. If you're still nervous, talk to your doctor. Tell them that you just found out your partner has been unfaithful and you would like another test, just to be sure.

They usually do the testing at the beginning. If you are concerned, have the doc retest. Otherwise, they wont do anything else but the strep b and that has nothing to do with std's.

I'm pretty for sure they check you for HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and all that good stuff. They did mine at my 8 week appointment when they took a crap load of blood from me. If you are concerned I would discuss it with my doctor to see if there is anything else that needs to be done. Good luck!

If there were any problems they would have told you.
