Who is the better 1B, Ryan Howard or Mark Texeira?
For my fantasy baseball team, I have both Howard and Texeira as 1b. I really need a SP, so I've been after Halladay for a while. I'm most likely getting him if I offer either Howard or Texeira, so my question is, Who should I stick to?

For Fantasy baseball? Howard. He's on a team that scores a lot of runs. He's on pace to set the single-season strikeout record, but he has a whole lot of RBI as well. That team doesn't have much pitching so to win ballgames, they have to score a lot of runs.
Teixeira is the better 1B by far as far as real life goes. Switch hitter with a lot of power from both sides of the plate who can play excellent defense (who doesn't strikeout that much comparatively). Howard drops balls all over the place, and he strikes out a whole bunch.
Just for Fantasy baseball though? Howard would be your man.

dont listen to the people saying howard, they only say that because of his homers and rbi's. Well hes hitting so far below 300 its not even funny. Texeira is a better hitter, and now that he plays for the angels his rbi's will skyrocket, and i wouldnt doubt his production getting better because of the success of those around him.

Well it depends on the categories in your league. If theres strikeouts get rid of Howard. He leads the league in strikeouts. But if not you should keep him for his HR and RBIs but your gonna have to live with that terrible AVG.
Personally I would take Texeria simply because he dosen't strike out, hits for avg, and will provide power but if your team is struggling with HR and RBIs go with Howard.

Last year I would say no doubt Howard but the way his batting average has dropped I would say Tixeria definitly take Tex Howard's average is really low he is like Adam Dunn this year strikes out or hits a homerun HOPE THIS HELPED! :-)

Overall it's Tex. Offensively I would take Howard because he's a HR and RBI machine. He's the prototypical cleanup hitter.
