OK, classic country fans..Even the DJ is stumped on this one..

A radio colleague brought by some old records and tapes one day. They came out of a now-defunct country music AM radio station. In this collection there is a tape that has lost its label.

It contains a song that appears to be called "Livin' in High Country".

Here's the chorus:

"Livin' in high country,

I sit up here and watch the world go by.

Livin' in high country

Well I was born right here and right here's where I'll die."

Kathleen,,Tex..cave..can any of you ID this song?

And if any of you have it, I'd like to get a better copy to use on my show. I don't know if I can get this old cassette tape to a decent enough quality to broadcast it.

Thanks!

Thanks Kathleen for asking me directly.

I didn't have the answer on top of my head, but I have a good source to ask. This may not happen right away, so I will be sure to make sure I can get a hold of you when my radio host friend is available to talk to about it.

Ironically, I ended up answering a different question about the late 80's country group Canyon while researching this.

Got any other hints on it?... found your blog where you mentioned possibly 70s... I'm asking as I know some early 70s songs such as many by Tom T Hall for instance were very hard to ID.

Other lyrics, roughly what time frame the cart's from (If it's music on a cart to possibly date it) as I was going thru the wiki on country music for hits and near hits from 1966-1980 and didn't match by anything that you wrote or sound like the ones I remember.
