What to do about a bye-week dilemma?

There are a couple ways to look at this...

Taking your bye week lumps in a couple of big "whammies" can be a strategic play. True, it's not ideal but you'll have two weeks in a fourteen game regular season where you are at risk for a loss.

You can try to trade and maneuver around it. But, I would not deplete my team before the season even starts. Jamal Lewis is worth more than you imagine. Guess who lead the NFL in carries inside the 5 yard line last year? Lewis has the best young O-line in the AFC.

I would sit tight, and start mining the waiver wire for fill-in prospects. There are enough guys that probably went undrafted that could be helpful, or even win their starting jobs. Keep an eye on Ryan Torian and Michael Pittman in Denver. Kevin Smith, Detroit... Ray Rice in Baltimore.

Don't make any bold moves yet.

EDIT: Even with limited bench spots, you probably could resort to dropping a defense if needed to fill one spot. Have a look at your opponent's roster for those weeks, and see what your chances are going into it. If he's full loaded that week, you are still best served by keeping your team intact and riding the wave.

DEF: Drop your other defense(not the patriots). On bye week pick up Carolina off waivers(they play at home against the Falcons)

QB: Drop Cambell, he is worthless, as he is not good, and shares a bye week with your other guy(who I assume must be better). You can pick up Warner or Pennington later on. At least one or both will emerge as a productive starter before your bye week. In Week 10(your bye week at QB), they both will be playing at home, against the 49ers and Rams respectively, both very poor defenses.

RB: use the 2 free spots you now have on your roster to pick up some guys on waivers, and hope there is an injury to the starter. I would go with Tatum Bell and Ryan Torain, as they actually still have chances to win the starting job. Chester Taylor and Chris Henry may also be available. If it doesn't work itself out by week one, try making a heads up fair trade RB for RB, but note that Jamal Lewis is far better than Ronnie Brown.

Try and pick up some body so that you can swing out of it .

like if you don't have a problem with the WRs then drop your worst one and pick up a RB or a QB or a D. Don't do that trade you are getting ripped off.

i'd stick it out with Marion Barber over the lengthy haul yet Earnest Graham had an excellent recreation very last week and would properly be the TB bypass to guy now. Im dropping faith in Tolbert in view that it really is the second one week with Mathews lower back from damage. i imagine he will see a lot less and a lot less paintings.
