How do you get windows to always list files in list format?
I'm at work on Windows 2000. Every time I open a window, it has large icons of all the files, which is extremely hard to sift through. I always have to switch the view to list. Is there a way to get it to open in list format as the default?

Open control panel, then select the Folder Options. Click on the Views tab. At the top is a section that lets you set all of your folders to use the view that you are using already.
Or, right mouse click on the start button. Select explore, Goto view option and select the setting you want all folders to use. Pick the Tools choice, then folder options. On the view tab you will have the same option as the method above.
