A Question to Answers staff, Why not all the top answerers are top contributors ?

Question

I am wondering how to become a top contributor ... and searched for previous questions asked on the topic ... but i was not completely satisfied ...
It's because no where in any answer ahev anyone defined how the answer team determines the contribution ... i mean what is the measure ... is it the percantage of best answers? or all answers ? or is it the answer's value to the asker? please describe more to help answer better and become a top contributor in this community... thnx

Sorry, but I'm not in the Yahoo! Answers staff, but would like to answer your question. To earn the Top Contributor badge, you need to go to a certain category, that you are really best at or good in. If you have 40-50 answers in your questions in that category, and have 10 percent or more best answers in that category, then you will earn the Top Contributor badge. Though on Mondays, if you don't keep doing the same activity you can easily get that badge taken away. You'll need to keep on doing that same thing. You cannot earn the badge in the categories of Polls & Surveys or Jokes & Riddles. Any other will do.

You become a Top Contributor by pure volume of recent answers given in a particular category. I was a TC and am a Top Answerer for this category, Yahoo Answers, but I boycotted this site the entire month of July and lost my badge because I had no RECENT best answers. I anticipate that I'll eventually get my orange badge back.

I know I lose my badge when I don't come on here and answer questions for a while in that category. I got it back after answering for a couple weeks.
