water retention???..too many carbs??...

yesterday was my day off work and i was tired and run down so i ended up eating more carbs than i usually would, not eating more in general, its just my meals were mainly carbs like bread and cereal.

Could this cause a couple of pounds in weight gain due to water retention???

Supplements of B6 are believed by some to counter water retention...or increase intake of foods which contain useful amounts of B6, such as meat, fish, whole grains and green leafy vegetables. Cutting down on salt can also help to reduce water retention.

Yes and it could cause a couple of pounds in fat also. It takes nine molecules of water to maintain one molecule of glucose in your body so you cold be retaining water but refined carbs are also the quickest way of laying down fat as insulin is released to mop up the excess blood sugar and deposit it as fat (once the short term stores are full).
