Is Conor Oberst trying to Bob Dylan?
I've heard the two being compared before, but never saw much of a connection other than their brilliant songwriting.
But yesterday on "Tonight" he was the musical guest and boy did he sound like Bob. At least to me.
It almost seems like he's trying to be Bob Dylan--his vocal style was quite similar and the band that backed him also was kind of reminiscent.
There's nothing wrong with it, but does any else see it? Or what?

Well personally I don't think he's "trying to be Bob Dylan" as such, I think they just have very similar styles and sound somewhat alike.
Although I definitly see some similarites between the two, I wouldn't say he is "trying to be" him.
