Are there jobs/careers where you work alone?

A buddy of mine is changing jobs, but says that he prefers to work alone. What kind of jobs allow that? I suggested bricklaying or retail sales, but couldn't think of anything else. Is there anything else?

Hello In answer to your question the first thing that comes to my mind is that people in general have very different prejudices with regard to jobs. One example I can give you from your answer is that I did not believe in anyone ever stripping. However having said that it seems that when I met someone through a course they had been a stripper . I found that initially I did not accept it but when I got to know that person it was really wonderful. It didn't mean I loved all strippers but I learnt that we should not put a label on any human, any job or any social class either. To answer your question : What would you consider a low class job/ career ?.This would be to put a label on professions which I feel is uneccessary. This is simply because whether you are a stripper or a bank manager both jobs fulfill certain requirements which are needed by a particular clienetele so both jobs are equally meaningful and are needed to cater for the needs of that specific target market. For example if someone just experienced a bad relationship or needed to talk to someone they may go out with friends to a strip club to release their pain. It may help them to overcome their pain during that short time. Similarly , if someone did not know how to manage their finances they would turn to a bank manager for assistance. It would again help them in their life. Every job which does not involve hurting any human being has value and meaning. You can't put a label on a job, a person an industry or anything . Putting a label is to degrade it or give it a lower value or higer value. You also need to understand the deeper purpose of why we do what we do on earth. The reason why we are born in this world is simply to achieve balance. So, if you become a doctor, it may be because you want to overcome your fear of death and illness. If you are a teacher you may be here to give back something which you once received from a community. If you are an accountant maybe it is because you are learning to master numbers or figures. If you are a policeman maybe your role is to overcome the fear of crime and punishment. Therefore in answer to your question it does not matter what class, social status, or standing any profession has. This is superficial because humans will never agree on this equally. I personally would place more emphasis on the value of the job in terms of fulfillment as I mentioned above and also the end result it can bring to the person doing that job which ultimately is your true purpose in life or your true calling and the main reason why you are on earth. Hope this helps. RIYAH4U

I started out with a guitar lessons business. I had to take students but I was my own boss.

The experience taught me a lot about owning my own business. Since then I have created other opportunities and have done all of them on my own.

If you would like help in finding out how you can do the same feel free to send me an email or instant message.

I can't really say, but if he was self employed, he wouldn't have to hire anyone, but that could be hard to do, you know, start up a company...
