Baffling symptoms, any ideas for my friend?

A very sweet lady is growing depressed that her Drs. aren't helping her. She's black, adopted, so no genetic info. Symtoms: numb fingers that FEEL swollen but aren't--they DO flex. Wrist pain. Now she's dropping things (can't feel the item in her hand). numbness going up arms, a tingling. Now pain in tailbone area down leg-feels bruised.Trouble raising her leg. Pain turning head sometimes. Today she had a nosebleed (new!) Pain radiates up her head and she's sleeping in a lounge chair to ease pains. The finger numbness and tingling up arms is most annoying, it seems. She's finally getting to go to a good teaching hospital, but what does this sound like, you Drs. and medical students?

I don't have any medical experience but i have a friend who had some similar symptoms and was later diagnosed with MS (Multiple sclerosis) - it is a neurological condition. The symptoms you describe though could be from a number of other neurological conditions. I would recommend getting an appointment with a neurologist. In the meantime this is the link to the MS society - they may be able to answer any of your questions or offer advice.

Gosh, that's awfulI am sorry you have to live with such a debilatating condition. As for what to do about it I am not sure. Honestly the first 2 things that came to my mind were to see a doctor or specialist to help control the outbursts (which you most likely are already doing) or maybe move to a small town where the people there known who you are therefore, understand your condition, silly I know. Sorry my answers aren't too good.

she obviously has something wrong with her nerves or her muscles. she should really go visit a good neurologist. it could be anything. carpen tunnel. Multipel sclerosis. nerve damage. etc etc etc. I think she needs to go find a neurologist. or someone who specializes in muscle problems. she needs to have tests taken such as cat scans. mri's etc etc etc. theres obviously something going on.
