HAIR opened in Central Park last night.

40 years???!!!! How can that be? I remember when Hair first came out but I was in Chicago--went to see the show when it came to Chicago. I was already annoying my parents with the commie pinnko hippie rock'n'roll stuff so they thought taking me to Hair was a great birthday gift (which it was). I love live stage shows anyway. Bought the stage show soundtrack. Later went to see the movie (not half as good as the stage show) and bought the soundtrack to that too. Did you know Diane Keaton was in one of the Hair productions?

I went to a production of this just a few years ago in our town and yes the cast did get naked. I think it was done tastefully and for the sake of art. I enjoyed the show. Peace

Did the audience get naked like they once did? I saw it in Hollywood 42 years ago, in 1966, if memory serves me correctly. I was 13 & got in the side entrance. It WAS an unforgettable affair. Especially when I peaked & freaked! I'll NEVER forget that day.

I saw a number from it on the Tonight Show and was really knocked out, it was like nothing I'd ever seen. A few weeks later one of my teachers, who was something of a hippie, brought the soundtrack to class and played it -- we weer in heaven! i grew up in a very conservative Southern town and this was really wild and "big city' to us!

40 years ago I was living in New York - and I saw Hair (but not on opening night) - - - the memory will last me a lifetime! Thanks for reminding me. CJ
