I was born in London England, 68 years ago, am a widow and now live alone in S.W. MO. I have 5 children and all live out of state, and also have 7 grandchildren. I have been retired from a middle-management position with "America's favorite mustard" for the past few years. I spend my time, shopping (for necessities only), at the library as I am an avid reader, and also spend time on line. Also write a lot of papers for publication. Some of them are mine. I enjoy a good laugh and good jokes, as well as a good debate (but not about religion - that's my private business). I like to play Scrabble, do crossword puzzles, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Who want to be a Millionaire and some other thought- provoking TV game shows. Love old movies and enjoy TCM and AMC.
Have any of you Senior Citizens tried this latest diet plan?
Yesterday, I was buying two large bags of dog food in Walmart. I was about to check out when a man behind me asked me if I had a dog. What did he think I had - an elephant?
Since I had little else to do, on impulse, I told him that no I didn't have a dog, and that I was starting the Pur*na diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I ended up in the hospital the last time. On the bright side though, I had lost 50 lbs., before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of every hole in my body and IV's in both arms.
I told him that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pockets with Pur*na nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry and that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to give it a try again. (I have to mention here that everyone in the line was enthralled with my story by now.)
Horrified, he asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food had poisoned me. I told him no; I had stopped in the middle of the parking lot to scratch my fleas and a car hit me.
I thought that the guy behind him was going to have a heart attack, he was laughing so hard.
Walmart won't let me shop there any more!
Let me know if this works for you!

I am referring to a commercial on TV - the fruit of the loom guys. One is an apple, one is a bunch of purple grapes and one is a bunch of green grapes. But what is the leafy guy. Is he cilantro, parsley, or what? Do any of you Seniors know who he is supposed to represent? I put this in Seniors but all are welcome to answer. Thank you.
13 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoSeniors - have you listed your telephone number with the?
Do Not Call Registry? I have just found out that it is necessary to renew your phone number with this organization every two years. I was suddenly getting a lot of unwanted telemarketers calling and could not understand why, as I had registered previously. So today I went back into the Do Not Call Registry and found that my new listing is only good until 07/2011! Whoa - talk about a recession proof job! Do you register with this organization or do you put up with nuisance callers?I put this in Seniors but everyone may answer. CJ

do you have to fill in a bunch of forms each time? I do and it's very annoying. And I've always wanted to know why they ask us women about our marital state. I put down single (I am actually a widow) and then I fill the box about children and put "5" ! Whose business is it if I am single, widowed or divorced? Is this state of affairs going to affect my health? I addressed this to Seniors but anyone may answer.

I recently answered Siddarthur's Thibideaux joke/question and got a V for it. I made a funny about loving Thibideaux and was surprised that a certain answerer thought this was a UK joke and did not understand it. They V'd me because it was "neither a question nor an answer" - - - - am ready to leave this site and find a logical outlet to my frustrations! Yahoo is obviously a site that runs on computers and No Humans are Involved unless a "certain answerer" reports the answer because they are unhappy with their little lives! CJ

32 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoSeniors (over 60 y.o. please) - do you ever remember weather . . . . ?
such as we have experienced over the past 5 years? For instance last week end it was 70 degrees F. here in Missouri, and then on Monday morning it was 31F and snowing - 6" was predicted but we only got 2" - it has been very cold all week but this week end it is supposed to warm up again. I watch the National News so I know that these freaky weather changes are not just taking place in my State. Do you remember when you were in your 20's what the weather was like in March of the year?
