It really depends on your hormonal makeup. The best thing to do is ask your doctor and tell them that you have had this side effect. They will know which pill or which other form of birth control (such as an IUD) would be better suited for you.

I have heard though from several friends that are on Yaz that it has helped with their sex drive issues. But that is only hearsay and not clinically proven. What worked for them may not work for you.

Dear ww.....though i'd really like to know your name..

I do have a lot of information on this. You are obviously a victim of the hormonal imbalance caused by the pills as a side effect. I would suggest you stop medication and go for copper-T. Thats an intra-uterine implant. It prevents the fusion of sperm and ovum and hence pregnancy. It is very reliable and it also has few side effects which exist only during the initial period. You can get the implant for various periods 5yrs, 3yrs and even few months..Plus it's a temporary implant so you can get it removed whenever you desire to conceive. This should be the right choice for you. Consult a gynaecologist. Plz take care.

    Good Luck.

Yes, loss of libido is a side-effect of the pill. So tell your doctor this so they can prescribe something different. Just keep trying until you find one that works just right for you. I take orthocept which works great for me. Check out the article below, scroll down to side effects.

For the urge, I don't know of any birth control.

Howver, for my urge, I've been a mj smoker for decades.

If I or my woman was "ready", I'd take a toke or two and I'd be ready, too.
