Will the Red Sox win the AL East or will Tampa continue to hold them off?

I think the Sox are playing for the Wild Card..that Tampa team just shows no quit and continues to play really good ball...it'll be a battle right down to the wire...what do you think?

Yes. The Rays will hold off the Sox. The Rays are playing really good ball and don't fold when they are losing late in the game. They have something like 32 come from behind wins. The Sox need to worry about the AL Central (Twins or Chisox) grabbing the WC.

Will K-- how can you say the Sox are still better than the Rays when you just picked the Rays to win the division?

You never know. At this point in the AL East, the sox are just 3.5 games behind, and with the Red Sox heating up a little bit more right now on the road, and everyone is starting to slowly come out of slumps, 3.5 games isn't very far ahead to say that the Rays will continue to win. Rays have a tougher schedule the last few months of the season.

Tampa will hold off the Red Sox. The Sox will win the wildcard, and the Yankees won't go to the playoffs!!! In the end, the Sox are still better than Tampa.

I think Tampa will hold the Red Sox off too. If no one over takes the Red Sox in WC standings, the Sox will be the winners.

i'm hoping the purple Sox win all of it. the element is, back in 1978, the purple Sox had a 12 interest lead in August and the Yankees got here each and every of the till now to tie on the final day and that that they had a play-off interest the place Bucky Dent hit a interest prevailing homer to win the branch and to pass onto the worldwide sequence. additionally remeber that the purple Sox had a three-0 deficit in the play-offs some years in the past against the Yankees and that they got here back to win the ALC and the worldwide sequence. So something can happen.

Tampa finishes the year with seven games on the road and has a very tough September. We'll see if they've got what it takes to win the division. The Red Sox don't seem as intimidating without Manny and their bullpen is shaky.

Tough call but TB has a good shot at it since the Sox are having so much trouble on the road and at home. Yankees may just jump over the Sox.

The Sox don't pass the Rays. The Rays are too good, and gritty. They're schedule is not very pretty ending the season, but the Sox are kind of punchless without Manny. They better hope that Bay doesn't go on one of his cold streaks or they're doomed.

I think the sox will be ahead of the Rays going into the last 3 weeks and then the Rays will pull ahead and hold the Redsox.

Tampa will win the AL East... the Red Sox traded their future, Francona still hasn't gotten smart (and he never will) and moved Ortiz to 4th so its harder to pitch around him.

Tampa is gonna be good for a long time too... they have wicked good kids.
