Who was that female U.S olympic gymnast who hurt leg and still saluted judges with dignity?
This was several years ago, she was awfully praised because as it turned out she was in severe pain and still greeted the judges.

Yes, Kerri Strugg at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. The team had already clinched the gold, but they didn't know it yet. Kerri thought she had to nail her vault to ensure the win... and she did! Wow, that was awesome! I'm glad she got all the attention from that. She was a great gymnast but had always been overshadowed by Kim Zmeskal and Shannon Miller.

Keri Strug at the 1996 (I think) summer games in Atlanta, Georgia. I remember watching that happen too. I don't think she actually broke her ankle because she was able to stand on it. She had been having problems with the ankle before and the physical stress she put onto it took it beyond it's limit.

I think you mean Kerri Strug ... that was ... wow, years ago!
I can't even remember which Olympics that was, but yeah ... she broke her foot (I think) and did her vault anyway. She was carried off by her coach and teammates.
