Disk cleanup in Windows XP
I can get the disk cleanup wizard to run from help and support, but the icon has totally disappeared from system tools in accessories. Anyone know how I can get it back? Also, are there any programs out there that will automatically delete and compress unused files? I have an eeepc and am constantly running out of room on the drive. Thanks...

first to get your disk clean up icon back right click on the start button and click Open all users
double click the Programs folder
double click the Accessories folder
double click the System tools folder
now right click in the open window click new >>shortcut
your'll see an empty field type cleanmgr.exe and click next
in the next field type Disk Clean up and click finish
now your short cut should be back where it belongs
as for programs that delete unused files the only ones are junk file removers that remove temporary files that have got leftover and not deleted (I recently removed 2 gig of junk files from a friends computer) a good on is called ccleaner you can download it here it's free http://www.ccleaner.com/

the EEEPC is a a solid state hard drive, it is like a giant flash memory, this is why some of the options are not there.
Get yourself a large exteranal flash drive to deal with the small amount of space on your "HardDrive". Evena large USB harddrive will do. you can then install all application to the exteranl drive. Plug it in when you need them leave it unplugged when you dont.
There is no program I know of that can delete and compress unused files with your help. I also not sure if you compress files on a flash harddrive.

Disk Cleanup clears up loads of space on my laptop usually. I also defrag it once a month.
The disk defragmenter should be in the system tools. It takes a while, but it helps.
