Have any eligible athletes actually boycotted the 2008 olympic games?
I know one or two boycotted the opening ceremony in a half hearted and compromised moral stand, but have any actually refused to attend and compete?

I think there are at least one or two that decided not to compete, but more due to the bad air quality, which would be dangerous for, say, a distance runner. But I'm not totally sure.

My friend, several athletes withdraw from the games because of the bad air quality levels.
