Pre-diabetes is a condition where blood sugars are higher than normal, but not high enough to be diagnosed with diabetes. There are two diagnosis associated with pre-diabetes. One is Impaired Fasting Glucose, where the fasting blood sugar (FBS) is between 100 and 125. A normal fasting blood sugar is less than 100 and a FBS of 126 or higher is a diagnosis of diabetesImpaired Glucose Tolerance is a blood sugar of 140-199 two hours after a Two hour glucose tolerance test with 75 grams of glucose, usually in the form of a Glucola beverage. A normal response to a glucose challenge would be a two hour blood sugar less than 140. A blood sugar of 200 or higher is a diagnosis of diabetes.

Diabetes is usually diagnosed by two seperate fasting glucose readings that are above 120. Another blood test, the A1C is also a very strong indicator of your DIabetes status. Keep in mind that pre-diabetes is still not type 2 Diabetes, but you would be at a stronger risk of developing it at some point. See your Doctor for these lab tests and take your meter with you to show them the readings you have been getting at home. Good luck!

Visit my blog site and print off the Blood Glucose Level Chart. The chart relates the HbA1C and daily finger prick test results. Study the chart and you will find that 80 to 120 is considered normal. You didn't say how long you have testing.
If it more than a couple of weeks and if you are closer to 120 or above then I would recommend a complete physical with blood work. The physical will establish you health baseline and the blood work, HbA1C, will tell you your blood glucose levels for the last 90 days. You would be close to pre-diabetes. That I would recommend using as wake-up call to improve you eating and exercise habits. Life as a mild heath nut is good!
Best Wishes.

Diabetics can eat anything a non-diabetic can eat. You just have to make an adjustment for carbs/sugars. Learn here https://tr.im/Oczqa
It is better for diabetics to eat slow burning carbs: potatoes, peanut butter, vegetables, breads, dairy products, etc. VS. fast burning carbs: candy, sugared soda, cakes, ice cream, anything high in sugar. Just know what your carb/insulin ratios (how much insulin you have to give yourself for the amount of carbs you are intaking) are. Adjust according to the amount of carbs(sugars) you are intaking. And, you should be fine. Natural sugars are better than processed sugars.
