I'm afraid so. If you think the world is polarised in good and evil - black and white - you're going to have a hard time understanding what is happening.

Think shades of grey - and it will help you make sense of the world, your country, your locality.

    Absolutely.

"Studies" are very tricky things. If not done properly, they can be flawed. If you make the statement that "90 percent of convicted criminals come from broken homes", people can misinterpret. This does not state that most single mothers can, and do, raise successful and law abiding children. Because that may not be the focus of the study. IF 99 percent of criminals from "normal" families happen to have good lawyers, and never wind up being convicted, that clearly would change the numbers of who is convicted. People make assumptions that all domestic violence is from poor families.. same is true. A lot of domestic violence in "good" families is never recognized. Mental illness can happen to anyone, since real mental illness is a malfunction of the brain. The stereotype of mental illness is that it is willful screwed up thinking, which comes from things like bad parents. Completely untrue.

My point is this.. be careful how you interpret any study or information. A lot is based in assumptions or stereotypes, which if anyone looked at reality, they would see through it.

First of all.. What is "Normal"? Criminals come from all types of families. I think most violent criminals should spend time with those families they've affected, all in one room, so they can really see what "Normal" means.

yes, a person can become violent due to a number of factors not just the way one was raised or genetics. Some people are violent because of mental issues unrelated to a family. Others become violent due to traumatic experiences that may or may not involve family.

Yes. It happens. And normal people come from violent families.

Yeah people can usually choose if they want to be a bad person even if they have grew up in the most loving, nicest family in the world.

I think it is sooo much easier to behave bad than behave in a good way, maybe thats why so many people are bad.

John Wesley Hardin's father was a minister and he had a good home life, yet he killed over 42 men. So yes, it does happen.

    Most of them do.

And what exactly is a "normal" family?

YES, but then what is a "NORMAL" family? I do not think there is such a thing.
