How would I become a home-based travel agent in Texas?
I want to find out how to become a travel agent in Texas. Do I need to have a license or certification or what? I already have to do this type of thing on a regular basis for some of the guys who work with my husband, as their company travel planner is terrible at getting short flights and decent hotels. I won't be doing it to support my family so the income isn't a real issue. It would really just be an extra income for fun stuff, but I don't know where I should start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello,
How are you? I am a home based travel agent and I enjoy it immensely. Here is where you can get some info on being a home based travel agent http://www.cassandralane.org/ click "View the company presentation".

check your state licensing website to see if a license is required. A good technical school could provide formal training.
You may try and get a job in a traditonal travel agency for experience, and then work for them from home, or purchase a franchise that will have websites etc.
