Deer Feeder What To Add With The Corn ?
I wanted to add something with the corn feed. Like buck warning or similar attractant. Also how long can a 200lb broadcast feeder last, any advice on where to place it.
Thanks
I don't have the time or the resources to setup a food plot. I have a small budget enough for a feeder and feed.

You can only add something to the corn that will not make it sticky.Personally, I don't think the corn needs an additive, but if I added any thing, it would be roasted soybeans- In my area, they come in a 50 lb sack mixed with corn already. It works well, but so does just corn. The setting on your feeder will determine how long your 200 lbs last. You can set it from a few seconds to 20 seconds Normally, each 5 seconds that the feeder is set to run, will put out 2 lbs of corn. If set for twice a day that's 4 lbs a day- just do the math using this guideline and you can come up with the time factor. The best place to put it, would be where the deer are traveling through to start with, if possible. But it is always best to have it close to thicker timber where the deer feel safer while feeding in the daytime.Good luck!

I once used an additive to a 55 gallon drum feeder. It got all clogged up. Maybe the humidity or who knows what caused klumping and blockage of the feed...
Another year I tried the Deer Cocaine. Following the instructions about placement and mix with the dirt. I only saw one Deer (a doe) approach and take a little sniff and leave it alone.
I have had much better luck with salt licks. As long as they are legal to use in your state.
